For a side project, I would like to talk to a few people who have done some data protection certification such as the "Professional certificate in data protection" (level 9) by UCD / IOB / Compliance Institute in Ireland (I know this one, this is an example) as well as talking to those providing such courses. I am interested in courses that deliver a DPO type certification. For my purpose, they would have to be run by a reputable EEA-EU based organisation (it means if not headquartered / run in the EEA, don't reply). I am not interested in IAPP certifications as their program is well known, nor am I interested in DPO certifications that can be found in a box of washing powder (I remember as a kid some gave toys) nor those found in Kinder eggs. The side project would be to compile a list of a few courses available and to understand what they offer to whom.

✅Conquer any CIPP certification: Your Ultimate Certification Mastery Guide (AIGP, Cipp/e/us/c/a) Finally wrote this post for you all. Many people believe that mastering CIPP certifications is an insurmountable challenge. I used to think the same, despite my experience as a practitioner. It seemed daunting, especially since many who had earned these certifications made it sound incredibly difficult. So, I want to offer some advice to those who feel scared and insecure. You can master any CIPP certification, whether it's #CIPPe, #CIPPC, #CIPPA, #CIPPUS, or even the intimidating new #AIGP. Here’s how: 1. 💪🏻Upload the Body of Knowledge (BoK):This document outlines the acts you need to read, understand, and learn. 2. 💪🏻Find a Good Prep Course or Book:Be cautious with books, especially the official CIPP ones, as many are outdated. 3. 💪🏻Gather and Upload All Named Acts in BoK:*Additionally, for CIPP/E, include EDPB Guidelines, and for #AIGP, include frameworks like NIST. A common mistake is relying solely on books or study notes from LinkedIn. Most CIPP exams (Asia, US, EU, Canada) are based on laws and regulations. Don’t limit yourself to brief notes from textbooks, including IAPP's. This approach not only prepares you for the exam but also enhances your understanding for practical work. You don’t want those letters just for show, right? 4. 💪🏻Create a Study Plan:Allocate enough hours to read material, listen to lectures, and make handwritten notes. My personal recommendation, based on brain analysis, is to use an A4 notebook to create a chart of each topic or large act on a centerfold. This helps you identify key points and organize them in a way your brain finds logical. Handwriting aids memory retention. Then, close the chart and recall all you remember from the topic to reinforce learning. 5. 💪🏻Review Previous Notes at the Start of Each Session:💪🏻Orally repeat the most complicated topics. 6. 💪🏻Double-Check the BoK:Ensure you’ve covered every act and topic. 7. 💪🏻Purchase Two Practice Tests Similar to the CIPP Exam:Even the official ones are easier than the real exam, so practice is crucial. Familiarize yourself with the question style, scenario-based questions, and identify any remaining weak spots. Big news 🚀 and proud of Belgium & the CCB! Today, the NIS2 draft law was adopted by the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament. (https://lnkd.in/ehv-5W5m) Key takeaway of the points we were waiting for: ➡️ ISO/IEC 27001 is confirmed as a "reference framework" with a full SoA. The Cyberfundamentals framework remains as well. (cf. [1] art. 39, [2] p.6) ➡️ The Self-Selection tool, with the self-assessment risk measurement to select the proper assurance level is confirmed (cf. [2] p.6). An entity can therefore opt, with motivated reasons, for a higher/lower assurance level (Basic/Important/Essential). ➡️ Grace period to demonstrate compliance is still not yet confirmed officially. ➡️ All entities in scope are required to register within 5 months of transposition and provide a precise description of their activities. It will be 2 months for the entities listed in Art. 14. An online platform from the CCB should be available for that purpose (cf. [1] Chap. 5 art. 13, [2] p.8) ➡️ For essential entities, compliance is regularly assessed by accredited bodies or through routine inspections. Important entities may voluntarily undergo regular compliance assessments but are only required to undergo retrospective control after significant incidents. (cf. [2] p.7) 🏆 With the royal decree coming in, Belgium is in advance compared to all European countries in its transposition process. It's now safe to say the NIS2 Directive will most likely be transposed for the due date (18th of October), which leaves us with 125 business days before the massive party starts.
