Which fork do you use for the salad? Where do you put your napkin after you finish your meal? Which direction should you pass the bread? Should you keep your cell phone on the table or in your pocket? If you have to excuse yourself, should you make a big deal about it? If you order chicken, should you cut it up into little pieces before eating it? These are all questions that we reviewed at our TALLsmall etiquette class for students who are going into interviews. #Etiquette101 #MannersMatter #PoliteProtocol #SocialGrace #CivilityCode

Standardized case frameworks are like recipes. You should be aware of them but not blindly follow them in your interview. It’s a bad look if you’re interviewing to be a chef and need to follow a recipe to slice an onion and fry it in oil. It’s the same for consulting. You shouldn’t need to list out the 4Ps or 5Cs as you work through a prompt. This doesn’t mean you should avoid slicing onions or talking about products and competitors, it just means you need to be able to do that, at the right moment, without instructions. #career
