Working with time-limited execs and overwhelmed teams to change work for the better 🚀 ∘ Bringing out the best in your leaders and teams ∘ 20+ years as an HR Exec, People Ops Leader, Talent Strategist & Keynote Speaker
Who’s on Your Team? Are you sure? Let me clarify. I’m not asking who you work with. I’m asking who’s on Your TEAM. Capital Y, capital T. ➡️ Your Team. Who can you count on? Who’s there when you need them most? Who supports you? Who pushes you? Who embraces you for who you are… …while challenging you to be the best version of yourself? Who is happy for you when you win (even if they don’t)? ➡️ Who is on Your Team? Friends, family, coworkers, others. Is it time to ‘recruit’? Or time to conduct some ‘layoffs’? Want to live a happier, healthier life? Manage “Your Team” with intention.

Do you agree? Last year, one of the most buzzed-about trends was The Great Betrayal, defined by employees having grown to feel that workplace #stability and employer loyalty are a fantasy, and that workers who bet on themselves and rent out their skills across a range of clients tend to be better off. A recent survey of 1,000 knowledge workers by the members-only product builders network A.Team found that those sentiments are becoming even more entrenched following the recent wave of #layoffs, particularly at tech companies, leading many to go from merely complementing their full-time jobs with side gigs to ditching the staff job altogether. Many people, myself included, have faced layoffs for various reasons. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat due to the closure of the local Visalia office where I used to work. I was given the option to join the Fresno team, which would require me to commute, unfortunately that’s not an option for me. See, I moved to Visalia four years ago with a strong desire to live and work locally. Before that, I lived in a rural mountain area, commuting two hours a day, five days a week for over a decade. Now, I know it might sound like it's not a big deal, but when you do the math, it adds up to 10 hours a week and 40 hours a month. That commute was a second full-time job! And let's not forget, I have a household to run, which is a full-time job in itself, especially if you're into keeping your house organized. But hey, I'm not letting this situation get me down. As I mentioned in a previous post, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade – with organic brown sugar and crushed ice, of course. It's a time to get creative, and that's exactly what I've done. Starting today, I'm offering my skill set to businesses in need of virtual administrative assistance. So, if you're a small business looking for help with phone calls, scheduling appointments, data entry, sales, candidate sourcing, or any other tasks, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm more than happy to lend a hand. And if budget constraints are holding you back from hiring a full or part-time employee, consider going the virtual route. It's a cost-effective solution that can save you both money and time on recruiting, training, payroll taxes, workers comp, PSL, and unemployment. Let's make it work! If you are not in need but know a small business owner that could benefit from my services, please send them my way. #layoffs #startingover #startupbusiness #virtualassistantservices #virtualassistantservices #becreative

Tech for Education | TechED | K12 Education | Advancing Education With Technology That Works For Students Everywhere
With many of my connections affected by layoffs, I wanted to share that my company, Clever Inc., is currently hiring. Despite the economic collapse, the education industry has shown significant growth. This growth can be attributed to various factors, including the increased demand for online education and remote learning options. Online platforms and remote learning have become the primary method of delivering education. This shift has not only allowed students to continue their education uninterrupted but has also created new opportunities for individuals to learn and enhance their skills from the comfort of their homes. Clever can address the increased demand for online education and remote learning options by providing a user-friendly and efficient platform for students, teachers, and K12 School Districts. If you are interested, you can learn more about what it's like to work at Clever by watching this video: [https://lnkd.in/eeNRtdAD] To explore job opportunities and apply, please visit our careers page: [https://lnkd.in/eD3yqGcq] If you have any questions about open positions or would like to know more about working at Clever, Send me a direct message. #openpositions #hiring #edtech

Community Support Series: Post #1 Experiencing a layoff is never easy and often leaves one feeling shocked and uncertain. With the guidance, expertise, and wisdom of my mentors, friends, and former colleagues, I have created a post-layoff checklist to help navigate this challenging period. Here’s what the checklist includes: ❓Some Questions for HR: - Am I eligible for Re-hire? - Will I receive payment for unused PTO and severance? - What is the reason for the layoff? - What insurance and benefits are available to me? 💻 Take a Break to Rebound and Upgrade Yourself: - Take a Break to Re-Calibrate. - Upgrade Yourself to Latest Market Trends (Read, Read and Read). - Add some Certifications on your name. 💰Personal Finance: - Review your expenses. - Create or adjust your budget to fit new circumstances. - Explore available government assistance programs. 📄Insurance Benefits: - Review your current insurance plan. - Explore available options or find affordable plans. 💾 Document Management: - Save all layoff-related communication for personal records. - Gather relevant documents from your tenure. (Resumes, certifications, etc). 🤝 Networking and Support: - Request references from former colleagues. - Lean on your professional network for job search. I understand everyone’s circumstances are different. To all those who are familiar with this process, what additional insights and items do you think should be listed? 🚀 If you find this useful, share and re-post for someone who can benefit from this !! 🚀 🌟 #Layoffs2024 #CareerSupport #PrepareYourself #NeXTAdventure #ProfessionalDevelopment #CommunitySupport #Calibrate #Millennials #Genz 🌟

Strategically Plan and Execute Programs and Projects | Program Manager | Project Manager | Data Analyst | Certified Scrum Master | Formerly at Meta | Currently Pivoting into Cybersecurity GRC
Today, I received a call from the recruiter informing me that I wouldn't be progressing to the next round. I appreciate her for keeping me updated on the status of my application. Nevertheless, I refuse to let my hard work, "The Assessment," gather dust on my computer or remain unnoticed on someone's desk or computer. This is one of two assessments I crafted for a Program Manager role (Health/Hospital). Someone will be able to recognize this effort. lol I'm fine; there were no tears shed. I believe spiritually that that position wasn't meant for me. While the role offered good pay, flexibility, remote work, and other perks, I'm not upset; I'm simply acknowledging the reality of this journey. Note: I've omitted the company name from this document. #programmanager #projectmanager #rejection #assessment #jobsearch #jobseekers #jobhunting #jobsearch #techlayoff #layoffs2024

Robert Half is looking for a Technical Product Manager position and the pay range is $60.00 - $70.00/Hour. Product managers that are being staffed by tech recruiting agencies in this market are some of the best roles to target as a candidate. There are two type of recruiters in tech. There are internal recruiters who work in house and external recruiters at agency who are paid a commission by the company to staff an extremely urgent role. 80% of the positions in tech haven’t even been posted yet, because everybody procrastinates doing work they and there’s nothing a refuting hates more than posting up jobs. Yuck, just writing this out brings back such painful memories. Here is a link to all the product manager roles being staffed by recruiters along with their name, contact information, pay rate, and remote or hybrid status. See you in Skool! https://lnkd.in/gCsMZ-Ab Don’t be late to Skool! https://lnkd.in/gCsMZ-Ab PS Let me know if you would like me to refer you and if I can I will. I am connected to tons of recruiters in the industry, but I can’t say I am close with all of them. Please RESHARE this post for all your colleagues still looking for a job.
