“Hold the vision, trust the process”. . [the backstory] This quote “Hold the vision, trust the process” was seen in 2014 on the walls of DUO Marketing + Communications - my office back then. DUO was the first South African #Tech #PR agency I joined. Till today I carry those words with me. Every step of the way in my career, those words brought comfort when 💩 hit the fan. 💛 [a leap of faith] It was ten years ago that my decision to move to a South African PR agency to learn more about #B2B #tech companies in SA and how best to tell their stories or launch their products, changed the trajectory of my career. (thanks to Judith Middleton for having faith in me) [my sandbox] ❌ It was during my time at DUO that I started my TEDx volunteer journey with the TEDxCapeTown team. Judith allowed me to use our office after hours to host team meetings. It was during this time that my vision for the #brand team came to life. Again a significant shift in the history of TEDxCapeTown because we had not had such a large team drive our brand before. Again - "Hold the Vision trust the Process" 😃 [the intersection] I need to give you that context before I drop this full circle moment. 💐 My new MD and founder of Voxeon Communications was a TED speaker in 2021 on the first TEDx stage that I curated. Our 10th Anniversary and first event post the pandemic. Her #TED talk on how the #metaverse will reignite workplace creativity was one of two talks out of 15 talks that year, that was selected by TED global. It’s quite a significant moment as curator when this happens in the community. Thanks to TEDx, Jo crossed my path. Thanks to our shared passion for the intersection of tech, people and communications - I’m so blessed to now work with her in an agency dedicated to supporting future-oriented brands to tell their stories and help future-ready organisations build happy, high performing flexible work cultures. #futurebrands #internalcommunications #technology #humanconnectionsmatter #communication

Whilst we were there, the extremely persuasive David Brock managed to talk me into having a 'relaxed chat' (with cameras, mics, mixing desk and editor on hand.......you know – 'that' kind of 'relaxed chat' 😁) with him about what it is I do, how I got to where I am today and all sorts of proofreading chat.
