Select Account Manager @ Cisco 🌟 | Driving Business Growth & Innovation through Technology 💻 | AI & Automation Advocate 🚀 | Fitness Enthusiast 💪
I can't believe today marks 1 year as an Account Manager at Cisco! 😯 I can still remember receiving the call from my now manager, telling me I got the role! I was overwhelmed with joy, yet unsure of what the year ahead would look like. Here's just 3 things I've learned over the past 12 months: 1. If you think it, you should say it! So many times we think "wow, that person did a fantastic job" or "I genuinely enjoy working with this person", yet we neglect to say it aloud to them. Now, I don't hold back when someone does something that resonates with me! 2. Write down your values and vision, and stay true to them. This was an exercise one of my mentors suggested I do, and wow was it impactful! Every time I make a decision, I circle back to my values & vision and see if it aligns. This has been extremely helpful in prioritizing time for what matters most. 3. Don't be afraid to try something new! The day-to-day can be mundane, but it doesn't have to be! Test out a new approach to connect with customers & partners, like Vidcast 😉 , a working lunch, or a quarterly business review! What's the worst that can happen? You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. So cheers! Here's to the next year and chapter of the journey at Cisco! 💙

Back in 2015, I was responsible for 'Project Led Zeppelin'. While being surrounded and supported by some amazingly talented people - we built our Sales Development function at Mimeo in 3 months, while carrying a team quota and doing our day jobs. Looking back on this I remember a few things; - Some of the best work and most enjoyable times in my career have come from simply working hard. In 3 months we built way more than we thought was possible - all while doing our day jobs. It is one of many times in my career that reminds me that there is no substitute for hard work - it makes a difference. - When we launched the team, we were using Yesware for email. At the time, Outreach and SalesLoft weren't even options (until later that year). I remember thinking early on that we over-indexed on email too fast. We went from a team of cold callers to a team of people who used email to set up calls. What I didn't realize at the time, but I do now (and try to never forget), is that the key to building a pipeline (or attention) is to zig when everyone else zags. Every approach works, and every approach goes through cycles. The best results come when you are using an approach that your competition is not. - I love the building process. The hard work, the need to constantly evolve and experiment, the comfort in the grey area - I am at my best and have the most fun in those environments. I'm super excited and thankful that I have the opportunity to get into building mode again at Mimeo with another amazing group of people! More to come on that soon...

As we wrap up another amazing year of growth at Cisco ThousandEyes, I’m beyond proud of everything the Technical Recruiting team accomplished together. With hard work, teamwork, a lot of dedication, and a little bit of humor, we’ve hit it out of the park. 🔹 Big Wins: We were able to improve our offer acceptance rate from 81% to 88% and doubled our hiring output YoY in the 2nd half. 🔹 Cool Projects: We were able to implement a new interview assessment tool, attend many amazing recruiting events, and drastically improve our Talent Brand. 🔹 Learning and Growing: Invested in ourselves with training and development, making us even stronger. 🔹 Happy Technical Teams: We continued building great relationships and helped our hiring teams smash their hiring goals. 🔹 Team Spirit: Our team collaboration has been off the charts, including our semi-formal virtual team celebration to end FY24! Huge thanks to Stephanie Low Kristina Serrano Steven Craig Wade McDiffett Veronica Sugrue, MBA Gwen Harpel Reynaldo F. Attending Black Hat back in August was really rewarding for us at Piiano. In the early days, we struggled to find our footing at such events. We had the technology, but our messaging was all over the place. We naively pitched ourselves as a generic "secure storage" solution, hoping the magic would speak for itself. But it didn’t. The real lesson we learned? Success hinges on clearly defined use cases. It sounds obvious now, but back then, we were missing the mark. We realized that pinpointing specific pain points and tailoring our integrations was crucial. For instance, focusing on PCI data protection allowed us to offer a clear value proposition: helping businesses bypass the complexities of PCI certification by offloading credit card tokenization to us. This year at Black Hat, we saw the fruits of this refined approach. We finally understood what makes our solutions appealing to customers, like our searchable encryption and zero trust access features. These aren’t just buzzwords; they’re solutions to real problems, and our customers are starting to see that. By articulating our use cases, we’re not just generating interest—we’re closing deals. We’re already planning for next year, aiming to have our own booth. So, if you’re in the tech space, remember: it’s not just about having a great product. It’s about knowing your audience, understanding their pain points, and clearly communicating how you can solve them. That’s the real magic.
