This is an inspiring short video for Glaucoma awareness week. #GlaucomaAwarenessWeek
Wayne and his son Gethin both have glaucoma. For them, it is very much a family disease. Wayne’s mother and grandmother lost most of their sight to the disease, so he and Gethin consider themselves fortunate. Their glaucoma got picked up early, so they’ve been able to benefit from treatments and it has had a minimal impact on their daily life. Although Gethin was initially quite concerned when he was diagnosed, it helped to have the reassurance and support of his father. Currently on eye drops, he is grateful that he can retain his sight long into the future. For both Wayne and Gethin, it’s critical that everyone attends regular eye tests, especially if glaucoma runs in the family. When was the last time you had your eyes tested? #GlaucomaAwarenessWeek
