The BARD Project, development workshop #4.
Richard the Second is a richly complex play; an emotional roller-coaster too. Language is dense, often poetic and always robust and 'muscular' on the 'speak' of it; actors need to be astute to the text at every turn of the page. But that's not hard because there are such thrilling, brutal and belligerent moments threading all the way through the narrative. Moments so highly charged, possessed of huge stakes should it all go pear-shaped for anyone at anytime. The outcome is never assured, until the end-game at plays' end. And even then, it's not over. This development workshop will be zoning in on those key thrilling scenes, made even more exciting with the expertise and guidance of fight director, Blake Wells.
