Film Composers! 🎥🎶📝 Receiving Multiple Notes and Requests for Revisions/Rewrites? It could be for these reasons: You need to ensure that the filmmaker has a clear idea of their filmmaking vision, style and identity. It might also mean they have an idea of how the music should sound, but this is also where the Composer role comes in. If the filmmaker doesn’t have a clear idea of their vision, you’ll find they will change around briefs and directions and result in rewrites/revisions. A BIG part of a Composer’s job is intuition! And intuitively knowing what music works and how to elevate and director’s vision musically! Tip: Make sure you send them a references to other films and music to indicate the type of instruments and musical directions you have covered in briefings and discussions. “Happy” to one person, might sound differently to another. So can instruments and music styles.
