🌕 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚: 𝐈𝐬 𝐈𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞? 🌕 Part -1 Guru Purnima is a significant day in the spiritual and cultural calendar of India. It is a day dedicated to paying homage to our gurus and mentors who enlighten us with knowledge and wisdom. But why do we celebrate this auspicious day? Guru Purnima, traditionally celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha, is a time to express our gratitude to our spiritual and academic teachers. The word "Guru" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "Gu," meaning darkness, and "Ru," meaning dispeller. Thus, a guru is someone who dispels the darkness of ignorance and leads us towards the light of knowledge. This day also commemorates the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyasa, the sage who compiled the four Vedas, authored the Mahabharata, and composed the eighteen Puranas. His contributions to Hindu philosophy and literature are invaluable, making him one of the most revered gurus in history. In today's fast-paced world, Guru Purnima reminds us to slow down and appreciate the mentors who have guided us, whether in our personal, professional, or spiritual journeys. It's an opportunity to reflect on their teachings and strive to embody the principles they have instilled in us.
