The scale of clean energy projects around the world are just massive. I remember when I first made the leap from selling fun in the consumer space to enabling #cleanenergy projects a BESS project was considered large if it hit tens of MWs. Now in just several years, we are building projects in the 100s of MW and at GW scale around the world. A great example of this is the first phase of the ACES GH2 hub in Utah. The timelapse below shows just how massive an endeavor this is and this is just the first phase of the project. To reckon with this massive clean energy and industrial scaling there is going to be an incredible need for supply chain optimization and partnership between the spectrum of providers in the deployment of these ecosystems. Despite fears of risk vs reward via clean energy, net-zero investment, the need for solutions addressing the global climate crisis is critical. Financial and science based models show a sustainable economic growth worthy of attention and adoption. After all, Klahoose First Nation built 2 run-of-river hydro projects and they help supply the grid with clean, green electricity for BC (Jimmie Creek produces 62 MW). The need now is for new and innovative solutions and this is why I am so heavily invested in time and resources for Hydrogen Energy (H2) production and distribution. These technologies have been around for 30 plus years and now is the time for a revolutionary model to become the standard. I am so proud to be at the ground level of this wonderful technology and the industry growth unfolding with First Nations and Government support. Here is a look at the Jimmie Creek project as a primer for what the possibilities can be well beyond the BC Hydro recent call for energy. This is RWE! These 100 projects are under construction and don't include those going through early project development ("in the pipeline" so to speak) such as my Canopy Offshore Wind project at 1.6 GW, which is estimated to generate enough clean power for more than 600,000 homes. These were vague numbers in my head so I did some math this morning. To put this in perspective, if one assumes 2 people per household, 1.6 GW could power all the homes in the northern counties of California (Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, Lake, Trinity, Siskiyou, Modoc, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Butte, Glenn, Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada, and Sierra), which have a combined population of about 1,048,000 according to 2022 US Census data. Just this one project now feels pretty powerful 💨
