We’ve just expanded our pipeline in #Australia, with active projects in three States. Supported by our wider #APAC and global teams, our colleagues have been building partnerships with key stakeholders, to grow our business in this important market. 🌊 Feasibility licence granted to our consortium for a fixed-bottom 2.5 GW #OffshoreWind project, Gippsland Skies, Victoria, 🌞 Investigative permit granted for a 500 MW #OnshoreWind farm in Sunny Corner, New South Wales, and 💨 Developing 1.5 GW of onshore wind projects in Queensland. Our combined effort will help the Australian Government transition from fossil fuels to #RenewableEnergy sources, as it aims to achieve a target of 82% renewable electricity by 2030. We continue our efforts globally to deliver a world powered by renewable energy. #renewablesnow

Great to have been part of this week's Renewable Energy Training Workshop with Business Renewables Centre Australia and EnergyCo, sharing insights with Hunter businesses and councils. I shared how City of Newcastle, Australia became the first council in NSW to be powered by 100% renewable electricity. Our journey, fueled by a PPA and our 5MW solar farm, is a testament to the power of clean energy, strong leadership and commitment to achieving net zero. Learning from experts like Peter Thrift on the Hunter's Renewable Energy Zone and Hunter Transmission Project, and Sam Parris and Ben Waters on AmpControl's PPA experience was invaluable. PPAs are a game-changer for organisations looking to decarbonise and secure their energy future. While the process can be complex, the benefits are immense: slashing emissions, supporting local renewable energy, achieving net zero goals, and gaining price certainty in a volatile market (and potentially cost savings too!). #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #ppa #sustainability #netzero #hunterregion #newcastle #cityofnewcastle

As we talk to more customers, it's clear that thermal storage presents one of the most flexible routes to decarbonising their operations through long duration, despatchable heat, steam and energy. And it's not just us that thinks that, the ongoing support of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is a nice validation.
We’re thrilled to announce that MGA Thermal has received a further $2.48 million, tripling the project backing from the Federal Government’s Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). The new funding signals a strong vote of confidence in the viability of MGA Thermal’s steam-dispatch thermal energy storage technology. ARENA’s track record and continued commitment to driving innovation and growth in the renewable energy transition underlines its central role in meeting climate goals. Darren Miller, CEO of ARENA said “We are proud to continue supporting MGA Thermal’s technology development which we believe could have a significant impact on Australia’s renewable energy transition.” MGA Thermal remains focused on addressing the challenges faced by hard-to-abate industries, recognising that distributed energy storage is vital for Australia and the world to effectively manage the evolving supply-demand dynamics of a clean energy future. #ldes #cleamsteam #climatetech #renewableenergy #energystorage Anna Starrett
