Congratulations to our UniTrento DISI professors Michele Segata and Paolo Casari on receiving the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 at the IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference (IEEE VNC 2024, Kobe Japan) in cooperation with Northeastern University in Boston 👏 The Conference accepted short papers meant to present novel perspectives, so as to foster discussions about innovative directions and new points of view. The winning paper, titled 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗢: 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 presents a work that enables the realistic evaluation of connected and automated mobility applications by through an hardware-in-the-loop approach. The developed tool, named #ColosSUMO, enables to exploit the Colosseum testbed to realistically emulate different communication technologies through software defined radio implementations of real world standards, and coupling the network emulator with the mobility simulator SUMO, to simulate change in vehicle dynamics in response to eceived data packets. The work showcases the potential of ColosSUMO by showing how the dynamics of a group of connected vehicles change when these move away from the 5G cellular base station. Exciting news from Arbe (#nasdaq: ARBE), an MS-IR LLC client, announcing the company’s tier-1, Sensrad , has signed an agreement with Tianyi Transportation Technology to supply 4D imaging radars powered by Arbe's advanced chipset. Valued at an estimated 7 million euros, this collaboration will advance vehicle-road-cloud integration across China, with deliveries starting as early as the third quarter of 2024. "Congratulations to Sensrad on this significant achievement,” said Kobi Marenko, CEO of Arbe. “This agreement is a clear demonstration of the market’s recognition of the superior performance and reliability of Arbe’s 4D imaging radar technology.
