🚨 New case alert: Film Symphony Orchestra is about the #internationalisation of a Spanish-based professional symphonic orchestra with more than eighty musicians that exclusively offer cinema music concerts. 🇪🇸 Since its creation FSO had a lot of success in the Spanish territory and its founder is considering internationalizing its activity. The case looks at the different options available and the territories possible in the context of the music industry rules. 💡 Pankaj Ghemawat framework is used and the #globalisation of #culture is discussed in classroom. Will be used in my elective MB-555 Global Leadership and Management at Berklee Valencia this academic year.

Musical symmetry and syntax are not new concepts. Research shows how musical syntax is very much related to language syntax. What are the implications for Music therapy practice and training? Here is a short lecture of Leonard Bernstein, speaking about musical symmetry and syntax within the context of Mozart. https://lnkd.in/gMeq7MDc

Music Publishing Best Practice 👇 When it comes to registering musical works, the best practice is to go through a #CMO after they have been confirmed for commercial release. The key, however, is to do this *before* the final release. Learn more about registering musical works at https://lnkd.in/d7WSqFTD. #goCLIPnow #Music #IntellectualProperty
It helps creators get credited when their work is used.

Music directing is not showmanship. It goes beyond excellent singing and riveting performances, for the sake of applause or in order to wow audiences. It seeks instead to build competence and general musicianship in the choristers and musicians. It's also not about the music director’s versatility with musical instruments, but his ability to direct/conduct the band to give the best expression. #day5 #musicdirector #musicdirectingbootcamp

Beyond the Baton: The Conductor as the Heartbeat of the Orchestra by Adam Scull https://lnkd.in/eqfYcF74 An orchestral conductor stands as a pivotal figure in the realm of classical music, embodying the crucial link between the musical score and its execution by the orchestra. This essay delves into the multifaceted role of the conductor, focusing on how they maintain the pace and harmony of the orchestra through their profound understanding of the music and the deft use of their baton. At the core of a conductor’s role is the interpretation of the musical score. The conductor must not only understand the technical aspects of the score—such as tempo, dynamics, and articulation—but also grasp the emotional and historical contexts that influence the piece. This deep comprehension allows the conductor to make informed decisions about how the piece should sound, which in turn guides their interactions with the orchestra.

"Everything we work on musically can be sorted into one of three broader categories: proficiency, musicianship, and artistry. These three areas are complementary, working together to support musical competence and well-roundedness." In this week's blog post I share what I consider to be the three main areas of musical development. #music #musicians #musicblog #buildamusicallife #proficiency #musicianship #artistry https://wix.to/hleV52Z
