At Dateline Resources Limited's Colosseum mine in California, US, 603,000 oz out of the total 1.1 million ounces MRE is contained at the North Pipe. The Colosseum mine is hosted by brecciated felsite pipe where #Gold mineralisation occurs. In recent drilling, Drill hole CM24-18, collared in the felsite breccia host rock returned 192.0m @ 1.00 g/t Au and 30m to the south, CM24-19a, returned 203.6m @ 1.03 g/t Au, with a high-grade section of 10.7m @ 8.17 g/t Au. We believe the Permian Basin is entering a new phase, where zone diversification and cube development has become the driving innovation. A quick look target formations over time shows just how much things have changed. Back in 2018, operators drilled over 40% of their wells in the Wolfcamp A, plus another 30% in the Wolfcamp B and Wolfcamp A (XY), good for over 70% in the "Upper Wolfcamp". But things have been changing lately, with data from the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024 showing the share of new Wolfcamp A wells has fallen below 20%, and the total Upper Wolfcamp below 30% of new targets. Over the past few weeks, we have shown how big an impact this has had on production growth numbers, but the sheer magnitude of the change when displayed as a fraction over time really drives it home. So where else are operators drilling? In the lower Wolfcamp (dark red colors), sub-Wolfcamp (black), Spraberry (green colors), and Bone Spring (blue colors), plus a number of shelfal zones that didn't make our chart. As much of the Wolfcamp A core has been drilled, operators are targeting other zones, both laterally and vertically. Infill results for new zones can look better than the initial development, and spreading out density throughout the rock column has enabled operators to push back up to 30 wells per section. If all you did was look at the topline per-well productivity numbers, it would not look like much innovation is happening in the Permian. But the real story is in the details: operators are mostly maintaining performance while radically diversifying beyond their Upper Wolfcamp bread and butter. #oilgas #permian #digitaloilfield

Firetail Resources' modern #exploration drilling has been limited to shallow #drilling around the historic workings and the No.4 Pond target, which have returned exceptional #copper intercepts with the extensive drill data for over 40,000m of surface and UG Diamond Drilling. Significant results include, 29.0m at 5.25% Cu, 9g/t Ag from 147m (YH21-24 H Zone), Incl. 3.24m at 9.54% Cu, 3.5% Zn, 10g/t Ag from 167.8m. Mineralisation at the York Harbour mine area consists of multiple, irregular horizons of massive and semi-massive pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite with minor pyrrhotite and rare galena. Today, in two separate decisions, the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) placed famed southern Utah redrock landscapes in the crosshairs of industrial development. The agency: -- re-approved two controversial drilling permits for lithium exploration near the entrance to the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park, even though the Australian company (A1 Lithium) behind the project has previously conducted unauthorized activity on public lands in Utah. -- approved a Canadian company’s proposal to develop the Labyrinth Canyon region for potash and lithium. The exploratory project includes the construction of four new well pads and the drilling of four wells on the east side of the Labyrinth Canyon stretch of the Green River. Below is a quote from Staff Attorney, Landon Newell. “Today’s decisions by the BLM completely fail to give this remarkable landscape the respect it deserves. Rather than holding this bad actor (A1 Lithium) to account for their past unauthorized actions, BLM has instead given them the green light to proceed. Regarding Labyrinth Canyon, large-scale mining will permanently destroy this landscape and the over-stressed Colorado River cannot support new, speculative, water-intensive mining. “On Oct. 30, 1911, the first national mine rescue demonstration was held in the U.S. It was organized by Dr. Joseph A. Holmes, who in 1910 was appointed as the first director of the U.S. Bureau of Mines by President William Howard Taft. Holmes and Taft attended the inaugural event at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2013, Oct. 30 was designated as National Mine Rescue Day. Throughout our nation’s history, members of the mining community have been called upon to rescue their fellow miners from emergency situations in coal and metal and nonmetal mines, whether trapped by fires, explosions, roof falls, flooding or harmful gases. Over time, these mine rescuers have become better trained and organized, and the equipment they use has become more sophisticated. Today, over 250 mine rescue teams are currently certified and equipped to perform mine rescue operations in the United States. They train and compete in mine rescue contests nationwide, culminating in national championships for coal and for metal and nonmetal mines, so they are ready to answer the call that they hope never comes. When they are called, these rescuers do not hesitate. This is a map of all of the wells that were completed in the Mississippian-aged Big Injun Sandstone in north central West Virginia. In actuality, if we had accurate records on every single Big Injun well, this map would probably be blacked-out. Records are incomplete because the Big Injun on north central WV began being targeted with extensive drilling in the 1870s, long before permitting and record keeping were standard. It is impossible to know how much oil has been produced out of the Big Injun Sandstone but I’d wager to say that it could easily be considered one of the world’s first super plays. But that gets me thinking… if the Injun wasn’t touched until today and we drilled it horizontally on proper spacing, what could it have produced?! Regardless, there’s plenty of meat left on the bone in the Big Injun and many other formations in places that people thought were picked over and dead… you just have to be willing to get your hands dirty. You can find oil in old fields with new technology or new fields with old technology
