One of the most important aspects of a successful business is putting people first. As someone who had the privilege of working under Angela Ahrendts' leadership during the Apple Retail revamp in 2015, I can attest to the power of a human-first culture. Focusing on our people not only exceeded expectations, but it also created a sense of belonging, security, and growth potential that is vital to feeling fulfilled at work. It's unfortunate that not all companies prioritize their people, but we can all learn from Angela's successful business model. People > Profits isn't just a nice sentiment, it's a trillion dollar business model. Life's too short to accept anything less. A perfect representation of good business sense and strategy. I often shake my head in disagreement when I encounter hawker stalls not sharing their tables or forcing people to order just "theirs", making things unpleasant for the customer. I've seen people's envy towards others' achievements. Not wishing well or being happy for others. Thus, limiting the knowledge for success and even collaboration. You ever wondered why in society we have specific areas that are filled with shops of similar business nature, but being able to prosper well together? This is because they understand the term called Nash Equilibrium, where a progressive environment is formulated with enough competition and traffic, allowing for both parties to retrieve maximum profit.
