Earlier this month, Alpha Square Group cohosted a full-day hackathon with AGI House, Flybridge, and MIT TechX on the MIT campus. More than 100 aspirational AI founders/builders from MIT, Harvard, and key tech companies in New England gathered at IHQ Ventures to reimagine Generative AI applications around latest foundation models, RAG etc. The hackathon were many times oversubscribed -- we were extremely impressed by the vibrant AI build community in New England! In addition to celebrity builders, we also had many titans in AI that came to speak. Andrew Bialecki, the CEO of Klaviyo, shared how his recently IPO-ed company got started at a hackathon. Mitesh Agrawal, Head of Cloud at Lambda Labs, ASG’s portfolio company, commented on the current state of AI cloud infrastructure. Joe Palermo, OpenAI’s technical staff, spoke about the new OpenAI releases. Last but not least, Eric Schmidt and Jimmy Ba, co-founder of xAI, both commented on their perspectives on advancements in AI. What a lineup! In total we had more than 10 demos with generous support from Lambda Labs, OpenAI, Anthropic, and LM Studio. Hope to see you at our next event.
