Interesting and characteristically wide-ranging article from Ruston Smith MBA, FPMI, FCMI, FRSA I'm increasingly convinced that the idea he mentions of an integrated savings product which is part-pension, part housing deposit vehicle and part short-term savings buffer is the way to go. It's time to start thinking holistically about saving, rather than live in our pensions/housing/cash silos! https://lnkd.in/eBqwDdxH

Recent research by St. James's Place revealed that more than two-thirds (69%) of clients expect to provide some form of financial support for a family member at some point* – over and above day-to-day ‘running costs’ Let's look at the options; such as children's pensions or a Junior ISA. *Intergenerational Wealth Transfer Survey, SJP and The Wisdom Council, 2023, survey size 887. #FinancialWellbeing #AnglianWealthManagement #WealthManagement

Experienced Pension Scheme Chair and Trustee, Investment and Governance expert who pragmatically delivers strategic business objectives
Consolidation is a major theme in the UK pensions industry and it was the focus of a great session at the #plsainvest24 PLSA conference this morning. There was general agreement that consolidation in DC will improve member outcomes, but only if there is appropriate quality trustee governance in place to drive and monitor it. One memorable comment : “For years DC governance has been the poor relation to DB governance. Good dc governance is more demanding than db governance.” Suggests there is a clear role here for professional trustees Pi Partnership
