AVALANCHE DRIVES PARAFI CAPITAL’S MOVE TO TOKENIZE PART OF ITS $1.2B PORTFOLIO: DETAILS… - ParaFi Capital, backed by Henry Kravis, tokenizes a portion of its $1.2 billion portfolio on the Avalanche blockchain. Key Details: - The New York-based firm tokenized a minority share of its latest venture capital fund, which closed in May. - The tokenized shares will be available on Securitize, a platform specializing in real-world asset tokenization—a project ParaFi invests in. - By doing so, ParaFi allows a new group of investors to access ParaFi’s venture strategy, previously reserved for institutional clients like endowments, family offices, and blockchain founders. - These tokenized shares will soon trade on Securitize Markets, and investors will benefit from the borrowing and lending capabilities of Securitize Credit. - ParaFi chose Avalanche reportedly for its speed, low fees, and ability to handle tokenized assets efficiently. - Several other firms, including BlackRock, KKR, and Hamilton Lane have also been exploring tokenization for private equity and venture funds. - The market for tokenized assets has now crossed $10.9 billion, and Citi Bank expects it to grow to $5 trillion by 2030.
