Our First BESS Project is on Track! ⚡🔋 Alpiq is building its first battery energy storage system (BESS) as part of its strategy to expand its flexible asset portfolio in core geographic markets. 🌍 The 30 MW BESS is located in Valkeakoski, Finland. 📍 Planned to be operational in the second half of 2025, the BESS will enhance grid stability and enable the integration of more renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. 🌬️☀️ Construction is progressing well, with 90% of civil works completed and equipment delivery on schedule. 🏗️ Stay tuned for more updates! 🌱🔋

one of the best and unusual pictures of the BESS project that I've seen:) The legendary Valkeakoski project; it's engineered and being delivered by Merus Power, isn't it?

Looking at the pictures and assuming it to be freezing cold up there: will there be any insulation to the batteries for more efficient usage?

Are you putting outdoor ground mounted ESS in this building? What considerations have been put in place for explosion control?
