10 years ago, I had the privilege to be part of the LAMILO (Last Mile Logistics) Project, a mission to revolutionize freight deliveries by addressing the often-overlooked 'last mile' of a supply chain. Our goal was to use an eco-friendly transport methods like electric vans, and cargo bikes to reduce CO2 levels in city centers. The concept was to use micro-hubs combined with electric fleets. This operation was live with about 70 drivers and up to 3,500 stops per day which means up to 50 stops per route in less than 4 hours to respect the delivery time. Dispatching/Cross-Docking : We had in the morning only 45 minutes to dispatch the parcels into the routes and all that was done manually. Delivery zone : less than 20 minutes to reach the latest delivery area from the micro-hub and for some drivers the first stop was even in the same street of the departure so lucky. Batteries : we would ride up to 50km without reloading. however, it happened some drivers was coming back dry with the power of the legs. Scanning : we were using only pen & paper and after all the documents was scanned and sent back to the sender like TNT for recording the proof of delivery. So fun to see that today we can have live tracking with solution like Urbantz Today, on the 10th anniversary of the project, I'm delighted to share the slides of our efforts to demonstrate efficient city logistics using electric cargo bikes and micro-hubs in Paris. Innovation does not stop - not even on the parking lot! With all the buzz surrounding artificial intelligence and its global impact, it's surprising to find markets that appear unaffected by technological advancements, remaining ripe and ready for disruption. Parking management is one of those industries - being operated with outdated technology and business models.  Believe it or not, the majority of parking lots of supermarkets and retail centers are still managed by parking guards lurking around ready to issue a hefty fine if a customer forgets his/her parking disc (often despite being a customer). Fair parking looks different (pun intended). Parking garages and paid parking lots still rely on barriers as the primary technology to manage access and regulate the number of vehicles. Despite their high installation and maintenance costs, barriers frequently experience multiple malfunctions per year, resulting in revenue losses in the thousands for operators. HyperloopTT, a leading transportation and technology licensing company, collaborated with us to design the HyperloopTT Express Freight. This innovative freight transport capsule system is set to revolutionise shipping with its speed, efficiency, and sustainability. We applied our future mobility expertise and service design methodologies to explore the development of a commercially viable freight system. Our goal was to create a design that could transform the logistics industry in terms of efficiency and commercial viability. To date, HyperloopTT has made major strides, including building the world’s first full-scale Hyperloop test facility, securing over 40 patents, and establishing the first insurance framework and safety certification guidelines for commercial Hyperloop systems.
