Venture Development Manager at imec - I love to exploit technology to solve the challenges of our generation
A few days ago, I mentioned that I was working on some exciting AI projects. Today, I’d like to introduce you to one of them: Brailsports. Brailsports is a project we incubated at imec.DeepTechVentures, and I had the pleasure of coaching the team. They came to us with a bold vision: to train AI models that address one of the biggest challenges in endurance sports—how much athletes can push their bodies - without exhausting tests interrupting their training plans. In endurance sports, athletes need to push their limits every day to be fully prepared for the few competitions they have each year. Brailsports developed an innovative solution to this critical problem—one that can be adapted for other sports and training programs as well. Erika and Bart have done an incredible job transforming their vision into a tangible product, gaining the support of major teams like Lotto Dstny, and creating a business plan that is both sustainable and scalable. I’m incredibly proud of this first, remarkable step, and I wish them all the success they deserve! #AI #Startup #Innovation #DeepTech #Sport
🚴♂️ Brailsports is partnering with Lotto Dstny to optimize training intensity, reduce injury risk, and increase athletes' potential. Backed by imec, University of Antwerp, and Ghent University, Brailsports AI-driven platform leverages data to monitor real-time athlete performance, minimize injury risks, and boost training intensity. This partnership advances how athletes train — moving past traditional lactic tests and offering highly personalized insights with a data-driven approach. By harnessing the power of advanced AI, Brailsports is driving the future of sports performance! Congratulations to Erika Lutin and Bart Nonneman on this important milestone. Weekend project: Finalizing my ML model for indoor #cycling #aero position evaluation! 🚴♂️💨 I've been working on this project to provide a more accurate way to assess aero positions while training indoors -- aka new metrics! By using machine learning and AI, I've created a tool that can help triathletes optimize their positions and improve their performance. The model has been built on #GoogleCloud and is designed to make indoor training more effective and transparent. Stay tuned for the release! #cycling #triathlon #machinelearning #AI #indoorcycling #aerodynamics"

Artificial Intelligence is one of THE buzz words currently, but is it always usefull? Here is a beautiful use case of #AI being really, really useful: Preparing the portrait photos for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup was a semi-automated process in the past, which took hours before every race. SELTEC Sports was able to fully automate the process with Adobe #Photoshop and #AI to execute this tasks within minutes saving an extensive amount of hours every season! #innovation #softwaredevelopment #artificialintelligence #welovesports #seltecstyle
Preparation for next FIS Ski World Cup events We are again preparing the athlete pictures for the upcoming races. To do this, we have enriched Photoshop with AI and have it automated. #alpinski #woldcup #fisski #AI #seltec #welovesports #GPCreative
