🌊🔬💡 Wood is working with Petrobras to deliver FPSO concept studies to enhance performance and reduce emissions over the next decade. The first study will focus on FPSO design improvements to boost operational reliability and reduce human exposure to risks. The second study will explore electrification options, eliminating traditional onboard electricity generation and using external power sources, such as offshore power hubs or onshore systems, to cut emissions significantly. 🌎⚙️⚡ Wood will leverage its global offshore expertise from Houston and Rio de Janeiro, with support from its marine systems team in Norway. Collaborating with Petrobras engineers and researchers from its Cenpes Research Center in Rio, the studies will explore innovative solutions not yet adopted in conventional FPSO designs. This project aligns with Petrobras’ plan to deploy 14 new FPSOs by 2028, ten of which are already under contract, incorporating decarbonization technologies to achieve the company's net zero goals. This is aligned with its Strategic Plan 2024-2028, Petrobras will invest $102 billion in new FPSOs, with $11.5 billion focused on decarbonization.

Yinson Holdings has made notable progress, particularly through its advanced Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. The company has completed FPSO Anna Nery for Petrobras's Marlim II field and is currently mobilizing FPSO Atlanta for Enauta. A significant milestone was reached with the FPSO Maria Quitéria, which recently had its name-giving ceremony in China. This FPSO is a testament to Yinson's commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation, destined for the Parque das Baleias - Jubarte field operated by Petrobras. 📎 FPSO Maria Quitéria stands out for incorporating a unique combination of technological advancements. These include a closed Flare Gas Recovery System (FGRS), co-generation of energy in combined cycle, and an all-electric concept. These features are in line with Yinson's goal of developing the Zero Emissions FPSO concept, aiming to significantly reduce the environmental impact of offshore production. According to WSB sources, this innovative approach is expected to cut emissions by up to 5 million tons of CO2 throughout FPSO Maria Quiteria's operational lifecycle. Furthermore, Yinson has demonstrated exceptional project management skills by ensuring the FPSO Maria Quitéria is set bound to Brazil by June, advancing its schedule by at least three months.
