Feeling nervous or shaky before a job interview? Try these simple tips that work well: Take three deep breaths (through your nose), then slowly exhale (through your mouth). It elicits a parasympathetic response that calms your body. Going into the interview, remember: ✅Be personable—people choose to work with and hire people they like— the way you present and engage with those you meet (professional, warm, enthusiastic) always helps; and ✅Be present— getting out of your own head, demonstrating active listening skills and genuine interest in the job/company/hiring manager will go a long way to strengthening your candidacy. #somaticbreathwork #interviewtips

Don't undercook the interview! So often when interviewing a candidate, the interviewer jumps straight into business after a brief discussion about the weather or something else just as mundane. The start of any interview is the perfect time to get to know each other and a great time to figure out what you have in common. Questions like: What are your interests outside of work? What books are you currently reading? What did you do on the weekend? Simple questions no doubt but they allow you to connect and build the relationship. The relationship you build with the candidate will play a huge factor in their decision-making process because it will affect how they feel during the interview. It's important to open up and be authentic so the candidate can get a sense of who they might be choosing to work with. Don't forget that the interview is a two-way street. Change your interview strategy from a questionathon to a conversation! Calidus Group #interviews #hiring #talentaquisition #hr

How extensively do you prepare questions before an interview? Knowing what to ask and what not to ask is key to getting the most out of your upcoming interview. Strategically-asked questions give you a better understanding of the role, a clearer vision of the business culture and more clarity about whether this opportunity is the right one. Some questions are more appropriate than others. For example, asking how success will be evaluated within the role will clear up the targets you're likely to be set, if successful. However, if you ask what a company does, you're showcasing a lack of preparation or understanding of the business. THIS is why it pays to prepare a list of questions before stepping into your next interview.
