1996: I joined as a site engineer with just 13 employees & 60 Lakhs revenue. 2024: Working as a President in the same organization with revenue of 200+ Cr and global presence. During my early days, I focused only on closing sale deals and field management. Mainly the tasks that were my direct responsibility, and short-term goals that gave immediate results. I wasn't growing, and neither was the company at the pace it could. But after initial few months, one meeting with Sir Ivan Dcosta and Gavin D'costa and later interactions with Vinita Dcosta, changed my MINDSET completely. It made me realise Key to success, i.e, The company's growth = My growth This new perspective helped me align my goals with the company's mission. Now I always think about results that give long-term benefits and contribute to the success of my company. 3 mindset shifts that helped me grow: 1️⃣ From "just a job" to "The mission" Stop viewing work as just a paycheck. Instead, find purpose by aligning your efforts with a larger goal that excites you. 2️⃣ From "me" to "we" Shift focus from personal success to team success. True leadership is about helping others shine and achieving collective growth. 3️⃣ From "fixed" to "growth" mindset Replace "I can't" with "How can I?" Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, rather than obstacles to avoid. And as a result? → From 13 employees, 60 Lakhs revenue to 150+ employees, 200+ Cr revenue → Together cracked bigger projects with the likes of Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, General Motors, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors, Royal Enfield, MG, etc. → It’s been 28+ years in the same company and thriving alongside Patvin Engineering Private Limited → Growth from site engineer to president, from local operations to global scale. When you decide to grow your vision, the REAL GROWTH happens. What is that mindset shift which helped you grow in your career? #CareerGrowth #LeadershipLessons #PersonalDevelopment #growthmindset

Vijay Chaddha "I am an Automobile Engineer with over four decades of experience in leadership roles across Sales & Marketing, After-sales service and Profit centre management in organizations like Eicher Tractors, Automobile Products of India Limited, TOYOTA DCM, MODI CHAMPION LTD, Deepak Shriram Group and Birla Yamaha. I also had an opportunity to lead the retail business of premium and luxury car brands while managing PRIME HONDA as Managing Director and Deutsche Motoren (One of the largest retail dealerships for BMW cars in India) as CEO before taking a break to initiate my entrepreneurial venture as a Business Consultant specialised in Data analytics and Process Excellence. I was fairly content in my career, as it was chugging along smoothly, till an unexpected opportunity arose. My boss decided to leave and I was offered a leadership position at Honda. I felt unsure about being ready for the added responsibility. However, I embraced the challenge and that became a turning point in my life and career. There were no notable failures along the way but I was aware of the slow pace of it. Sticking to my core values of being positive, humble, focused and simple, helped me to create opportunities for myself. Success is a slow phenomenon and does not come overnight. Disciplined focus on core values over time certainly paved the way for greater things. A key skill that led to success was to approach every endeavour with well-defined objectives, timelines, and a system of accountability and structured monitoring. Another important skill was to work towards ensuring the success of colleagues which automatically guaranteed my own success. A lesson I hold closely is “Anything that is scheduled will happen and every aspect that gets measured starts growing”." This was a lesson during an experience I had not too long ago. I received a meeting invite at 9:30 AM for a sales discussion with HR from Maruti Suzuki India Limited. I called to inform him that our office hours begin at 10 AM but I was on my way and would do my best to join by 9:45 AM. What the HR said to me sticks with me to this day: "Your duty starts when your office starts, and it ends the minute you leave for home. Reach your office, settle down, and let’s connect at 10:15 AM." That simple but powerful statement, coming from Maruti’s HR team under the leadership of Salil Lal, is a lesson I carry with me. It reinforced the importance of setting boundaries and respecting one’s time. The recent news took me back to my early days, when no one told me it was okay to set boundaries and not adopt a “slave mindset.” I thought working 12-14 hours everyday was just part of the job. But over time, I’ve learned that the value we bring, the expertise and skills, is more than enough. Our duty doesn’t extend beyond that. Let’s normalize the idea that productivity isn’t tied to overworking. #WorkLifeBalance #RespectBoundaries #EmployeeWellbeing #Leadership #GrowthMindset

Quality of Cars I used a TATA Motors Car and met with an accident but that accident will not stop me from choosing a TATA Motors Car in future. I used a Maruti Car. I faced Service related issues as well. Whether I will consider any Maruti Car in future ? The answer is "YES". I found Hyundai made Creta a very good car. I say " An Excellent Car". Whether I will buy Creta in the future? The answer is "NO". I am currently using Mahindra Car. Whether I will recommend Mahindra products to others? The answer is "NO" and "Never". Answer is affirmative in first two cases. The answer is negative in the other two cases. Why? Difference is on account of "value" of customers in the eyes of Organisation. The "Value" is outcome of how customers are treated in reality. Organisations have illusion that through advertisement or through Social Media campaign they will be able to create "Value". Due to this illusion they spent heavily on "Advertisement". जबकि कस्टमर को कोई बेनिफिट देने की बात हो तो उनको घिग्घी बंध जाती है। In reality, majority of sales happens with customers reference only but benefits goes to Cricketers, Bollywood and other Celebrities. When Organisations will wake-up and treat their customers with respect they deserve? Your strategy should be "Customer Centric" not "Amitabh Bachchan Centric".

📊 June 2024 Commercial Vehicle Sales Analysis 🚛 Bajaj Auto: Bajaj Auto emerged as the strongest performer this month, recording a robust 16% growth in overall sales. The company achieved impressive double-digit growth in both domestic and export markets. Escorts: Escorts faced a challenging month, particularly in the export segment, with sales plummeting by 60%. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M): Mahindra & Mahindra experienced a slight dip in domestic sales, down by 2%. Maruti: Maruti also saw a decrease in domestic sales, falling by 8%. Tata Motors: Tata Motors reported an 8% decline in domestic sales. However, their export market showed a positive trend with a 16% increase. Overall, Tata Motors' sales declined by 7%. The commercial vehicle market's performance this month highlights the variability in market conditions. Bajaj Auto's exceptional growth contrasts with the challenges faced by others, particularly in the export segment where Bajaj and Tata experienced growth while Escorts saw a significant decline. #CommercialVehicles #SalesData #MarketTrends #BusinessInsights #BajajAuto #TataMotors #Mahindra #Maruti #Escorts

If I would get the chance to lead any company in the world, then this is the company that I'll choose: India’s automotive giant with a market capitalization of ₹2.8 trillion, Maruti Suzuki. This company is a strong player in the automotive industry, commanding a market share of over 43% in the passenger vehicle segment. Even since 1981, Maruti Suzuki has never looked back to their profitable track. Even in FY 2023, they sold over a whopping 1.6 million units, generating revenues of ₹1.24 trillion. Where would I like to shift my focus? Aggressively towards the EV industry. The EV industry is projected to reach up to $206 billion by 2030, and Maruti holds a vital position to become a market leader in that segment. India’s EV market, which is projected to reach up to $206 billion by 2030, presents a golden opportunity. By outsourcing supplies, making in-house EV batteries and the USP of affordable and accessible cars, I would increase 20% of Maruti's market share. Hence, this makes the company even more attractive to future investors and current stakeholders and positions Maruti Suzuki as a leader in the rapidly expanding EV market. What company would you choose if you had the opportunity to lead for a year? #business #EV #leadership #growth

1st July 2022. I stepped into the Bajaj Auto Ltd, Akurdi Campus with a plethora of emotions. It's been 2 years and 2 months since then. A lot of things have changed. When I look back at time, I see a completely different version of myself. Like everyone says, the first job is like a Pandora's box. There's a lot in it. You keep discovering new things every single day. All in all it has been a bittersweet experience for me. A lot of thanks to my Div. Manager Mr. Anand Menon for guiding me through all the ups and downs of my corporate life. I feel blessed to have someone like him as a mentor. But I have to admit the fact that, I have met quite a few amazing personalities here. Right from the Design office to the Testing and Validation cells. You see people around you with 30+ years of experience in this organisation. The stories of making the legendary scooter Chetak only from the 2D drawings to managing the whole development inside the campus with 10k+ employees back then are nothing short of a miracle. 'Freedom' holds a special place in my heart. I still remember the tea time conversations regarding the customer acceptability of this project. But now that the launch is over and it's putting some solid monthly sales figures, every bit of effort that was put into the smallest of the smallest issues, feels justified. Hope so, one fine day, Freedom will dethrone the market leader Splendour in terms of volumes. It might seem like a far-fetched dream. But what's wrong with dreaming :) #BajajAutoLtd #FreedomNG04
