⭐️ Team Spotlight ⭐️ Meet Wylie Conlon: one of the first software engineers to join Superblocks over 2 years ago! 🐨 What project are you currently working on at Superblocks? Right now I'm upgrading our build tools & libraries to take advantage of recent releases in the React ecosystem. Specifically, we will be using new code-splitting features and changing how we apply CSS-in-JS. Our customers will benefit from performance improvements and our engineers will benefit from better tools. 🐨 What's the App Infrastructure Team responsible for? Our vision is to make Superblocks apps super-powered and super-reliable. Our roadmap is focused on making Superblocks infinitely extensible, with or without code. For instance, we are looking at ways to create reusable components and functions, as well as new ways of triggering events. We are also responsible for the Superblocks binding engine, with a focus on optimizing performance and error rates. 🐨 What were you building prior to joining Superblocks? I built and released Kibana Lens, a drag-and-drop visualization builder for Elastic. Lens is both easy to learn and customizable for advanced users. One of my favorite parts was developing the Lens formula language and editing IDE, which included autocomplete features and inline documentation. 🐨 What keeps you here at Superblocks? In short: the team. It’s extremely rare to find such a talented group of people who share enthusiasm for building phenomenal products. The work I do is highly valued by both the team and our customers. Being surrounded by a talented team equates to quick and candid feedback that helps us all grow. 🐨 Favorite Hobby outside of work? I enjoy cycling around New York City and have been taking longer weekend journeys by bicycle. I’m hoping to do an even longer adventure in the future! Interested in meeting more of our team? Feel free to submit an application or reach out, we're hiring!

Unpopular opinion about devs job-hopping. It’s not gravity! Here's what I mean. Companies know they get to keep their developers for 2.5 years. They see it as something that just happens. Like gravity. But does it have to be this way? Can we imagine 10x-ing that? What would help us stay at a company for 25 years? Here’s my list of current “demands” by order of importance: - I feel the company is doing something important. - I spend as much time with my family as I need. - My team is measured by key learnings. - Transparent salaries. - Mob programming. - Profit sharing. 1x companies keep developers for 2.5 years. The 10x company might keep them for 25 years. What are your “demands” for staying 25 years with the same company? --- Don’t feel like sharing in the comments? My DMs are open.

Day 11: Bringing My Next.js Project to Life with Vercel 🌟 "Going Live with Vercel: A Milestone Achievement! 🚀🌍 Day 11 of my Next.js adventure illuminated my project, deploying it live for the world to see with the help of Vercel. The pivotal moment came when I integrated my live app URL with Clerk's WebHook, paving the way for seamless real-time data synchronization across platforms. This deployment transcended mere online accessibility; it showcased the seamless integration and formidable capabilities of Vercel alongside Clerk's WebHooks. The facility to maintain database sync between two distinct services in real-time underscores the adaptability and interconnectedness inherent in modern web applications. Seeing my application spring to life on Vercel, working in unison with external services, has been an exceptionally gratifying experience. This step isn't just a technical milestone; it represents significant progress in my developmental journey. The journey doesn't pause here. Fueled by this achievement, I'm eager to explore further possibilities and face new challenges head-on. The adventure into the ever-evolving realm of web development continues, and I'm thrilled to dive even deeper. 🌟 #openforwork #reactjs #nextjs #frontenddevelopment #frontenddeveloper #vercel #clerk

🚀 Exciting Project Update! 🌤️ I am thrilled to share that I have successfully completed Task 5 at Prodigy Infotech, where I developed a fully functional weather application using the Open Weather API! This project was an incredible learning experience and a significant step forward in my journey as a software developer. 🔍 Key Features of the Weather App: Real-Time Weather Data: Get current weather updates for any city in the world. User-Friendly Interface: A clean, intuitive design that ensures a great user experience. Responsive Design: Accessible on both desktop and mobile devices. Detailed Weather Insights: Including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and more. 💡 Technical Highlights: Utilized the OpenWeather API to fetch real-time weather data. Implemented using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend. Focused on best practices for API integration and secure handling of API keys. 🙌 Gratitude: I am immensely grateful to my mentors and the team at Prodigy Infotech for their guidance and support throughout this project. When One Semicolon Holds Your Whole Career Hostage... 😅 Ever had one of those days where a single missing semicolon feels like it's personally out to ruin your life? No? Just me? 😅 Well, welcome to the headache-filled world of software development, where the tiniest mistake can make you question all your life choices 🤯. Between web and mobile development (and an alarming amount of coffee ☕️), I’ve had the pleasure of building some pretty cool apps that actually help people. Of course, I’ve also managed to break things in ways that still keep me up at night 😩. But honestly, that’s part of the fun, right? 😅 The beauty of being a dev is that every bug, every crash, every 'why won’t this work?!' moment is just another step in the journey toward something great. Between perfecting user interfaces or wrestling with code that acts like it has a mind of its own, each day is an adventure. And yeah, some days feel like I'm just hacking away at an endless to-do list of bugs 📝, but that feeling when it finally works—pure euphoria ✨. I wanted to share a little snapshot 📸 of my workspace (where all the chaos and magic happens) and open the floor to connect with anyone who's been through the sleepless nights, the 'what if we just start over?' moments 🤔, or even just appreciates good old tech stories. So, devs, tech lovers, or anyone who’s curious—what’s your wildest, funniest, or most head-scratching experience with tech? Let’s swap stories and remind ourselves why we love (and sometimes hate) this unpredictable ride! 🚀💻 #developer #wfh #frontend #react #techjourney #mobiledevelopment #webdevelopment #javascript #techcommunity #linkedin #softwareengineer #workspace #linkedininfluencer #inspiration #peaceadeniji

I am impressed by Vercel! 🚀 I have migrated three projects, and everything went fast and smoothly. From setup to deployment, it all works seamlessly. A huge shoutout to them for creating a solid user-friendly solution! 🙌 Although I admit I’m a rookie developer, dedicating some hours to it out of my passion for technology, purely as a hobby and for fun, I can confidently say that Vercel is the perfect platform for front-end developers. It allows us to create complex web projects with API integrations without worrying about backend development. I’m excited to explore its features and start practising with their framework, Next.js. #Vercel #WebDevelopment #React #Frontend #Tech #Deployment #Productivity #Nextjs

I remember when I started learning to write PHP, so many times I had written lines of code and at runtime I would get an error message: Fatal error: Uncaught Exception:... Stack trace:... thrown in... on line 42 Just for me to check line 42 and see that line 42 is empty with no single line of code! 😄 This simple error message could be a semicolon missing on line 35. I know a colleague who ran away from PHP because of this semicolon frustration. There have been times that I struggle to fix either a semicolon or an indentation for hours, and while sleeping or stepping out, the only thing in my head is "where's the bug?" 😭 😂 However, these experiences, frustrations, and joy (after debugging) have been the motivation and passion behind creating digital solutions to solve real-world problems.
