"Machine-Assisted Epoxy Flooring: Efficiency and Precision in Surface Enhancement" Machine-assisted epoxy flooring involves the use of specialized equipment to apply epoxy coatings efficiently and with precision. Typically, this process begins with surface preparation, where machines such as floor grinders or shot blasters are used to clean and profile the substrate, ensuring optimal adhesion of the epoxy. Next, epoxy mixing and dispensing machines are employed to accurately blend and dispense the epoxy resin and hardener components. Application tools like squeegees, rollers, or spray equipment are then used to evenly distribute the epoxy over the floor surface. Finally, machine-operated techniques ensure consistent coverage and thickness, followed by curing and finishing steps. This method enhances workflow efficiency, reduces application time, and ensures a durable, seamless epoxy flooring finish suitable for various industrial, commercial, and residential. STRUCTURE magazine | Balustrade Design Loads: Failures, Fatalities, Research & Global Design Practices In this article it explains the history and the full scale testing that has given rise to adding extra loading categories in balustrade loadings around the world. You don't design a residential balustrade for crowd surge, so why would you only design a balustrade to restrain an crowd for only residential loading? It makes sense to have multiple categories. For those of you on ASTM E06 committees, there are multiple ballots out currently for E985 Standard Specification for Permanent Metal Railing Systems and Rails for Buildings and E2358 Standard Specification for Performance of Glazing in Permanent Railing Systems, Guards, and Balustrades. They are all good proposals that help recognize international practice and add the necessary load categories. Please support these ballots if you can.

Fire Resistance Design of CLT Surfaces for EN 1995, SIA 265, NDS, and CSA O86: You have the option to perform the fire resistance design of surfaces using the reduced cross-section method. The reduction is applied over the surface thickness. It is possible to perform the design checks for all timber materials allowed for the design. For cross-laminated timber, depending on the type of adhesive, you can select whether it is possible for individual carbonized layer parts to fall off, and whether you can expect increased charring in certain layer areas.
