August is National Wellness Month #NationalWellnessMonth !
People are starting to focus more on their health and wellness, both physically and mentally.
It's important to note how your physical and mental health affect each other. If you are stressed, it will affect your digestion, hormones, body fat, sleep and more.
Also, during times of stress, you deplete certain nutrients such as iron, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, selenium, vitamin D, B vitamins, and more.
For us to be at our best at work and home, we need to take care of our health, and it's smart for workplaces to support this.
How can you celebrate Wellness Month? You could:
- Go for a hike with your staff
- Have walking meetings
- Offer healthy food options in the office
- Host a live health and wellness presentation
- Have a challenge (drink 9 cups of water, get 8 hours sleep, step challenge)
- Host a healthy cooking demonstration
- Encourage your staff to step away from technology after-hours
- Review your HR policies for DEIB practices,
