In an Op-Ed for TIME, Sam Altman of OpenAI and Arianna Huffinton of Thrive Global, write about how AI can transform healthcare and also announce the launch of their new AI Health Coach: Thrive AI Health. 🚀 Thrive AI Health, funded by the OpenAI #Startup Fund and Thrive Global, is developing a hyper personalized AI health coach. Available as a mobile app and within Thrive Global’s enterprise products, it will utilize peer reviewed science and Thrive's behavior change methodology, including Microsteps, which are small daily actions leading to healthier habits. The AI will be trained on personal biometric, lab, and medical data you share, learning your preferences and patterns across sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, and social connection. With a long term memory, it provides real time, personalized recommendations to help you improve your daily health behaviors. This is a great use case for #AI, and it was also great to read how #OpenAI is partnering with Color Health on an AI copilot to assist doctors in cancer screening and in creating treatment plans after a doctor has made a diagnosis. This article provides a compelling introduction to the potential of AI in health coaching. However, a more balanced perspective acknowledging the limitations and challenges would be necessary and beneficial. Here are some additional points to consider: A. Regulation and Oversight: Robust regulatory frameworks are needed to ensure responsible development and use of AI health coaching tools. B. Human Interaction: AI coaching should complement, not replace, human interaction with healthcare professionals. C. User Control and Transparency: Users should have clear control over their data and be able to understand how the AI health coach arrives at its recommendations. #AIHealthCoaching #ChronicDiseasePrevention #PersonalizedMedicine #FutureofHealthcare #HealthyHabits #BehaviorChangeTech #WellnessCoaching #HealthEquity #AIforGood #MentalHealthMatters https://lnkd.in/dik-_wYz

I'm not a regular follower of celebrity news, but when these two celebs are called Sam Altman and Arianna Huffington, and they write an article on #AI in #healthcare in TIME, it is worth checking out. Arianna, founder of the legendary site Huffington Post, and Altman, of OpenAI fame, are building an AI health coaching app together, called Thrive AI https://thrivelabs.ai/. Combining best practices of behaviour change and AI seems like a truly interesting combination. A space to watch closely, and an article that is worth a read in the noise of AI news. https://lnkd.in/ehKnMtyj

Super interesting… Arianna Huffington and OpenAI published a piece in TIME today sharing a vision for how AI driven behavior change can transform healthcare and announcing the launch of Thrive AI Health, a new company funded by the OpenAI Startup Fund and Thrive Global, which will be devoted to building an AI health coach. There is no question that AI can help drive behavior change and just like digital it can become a true cultural revolution in health care. With over 130 million Americans battling chronic diseases, and 90% of our $4.1 trillion health care spend directed at treatment, AI offers a new direction. AI as a personal health curator, integrating sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and social connection into our daily lives. This isn't just tech—it's about making wellness a cultural norm, democratizing health, and turning daily habits into life practices. I’ve personally been involved in architecting AI “coach” experiences in the past but it could never do what AI can do today. Everything is being reinvented! Excited to see where this goes.

AI powered health coach anyone? Really interesting TIME article on the potential of AI in healthcare and Open AI funding a new start-up, Thrive AI Health. It really got me thinking about the future of healthcare and the role AI could play in empowering people to lead healthier lives. 🤔💭 Three key points that stuck with me: 🩺💡 AI-driven personalized guidance on daily habits like sleep, diet, and stress management could revolutionize chronic disease prevention and management. 🚨💼 While AI health coaching could democratize access to lifestyle medicine, we must address the elephant in the room, the risks of data misuse and biased algorithms in a profit-driven healthcare system. 🌍🤝 Shaping the responsible development and deployment of AI in healthcare is crucial for creating a future of more personalized, preventive, and equitable care. Exciting potential, but not without challenges. What do you think about the future of AI in healthcare? I'm cautiously optimistic. With responsible development & cross-sector collaboration, AI coaching could democratize access to lifestyle medicine & usher in a new era of personalized, preventive care.
