We invite members of the #oceanexploration, science, and management community to submit priorities for #seafloormapping, #remotelyoperatedvehicle dives, physical sampling, and technology integrations. Please provide your input by February 1, 2024. Is humanity ready for a mission to Mars? Not yet - we still have much to learn about living and working in deep space for months to years at a time. Today, human spaceflight is incredibly Earth-reliant and a mission to Mars will require us to create new ways of operating in space - progressive Earth independence. I recently gave a TEDx talk hosted by the International Space University about how we can achieve Earth-independent medical operations using new capabilities, technologies, and procedures. This paradigm shift will not only enable successful long-duration deep space exploration but will also reap enormous benefits for the people on Earth. https://lnkd.in/gYv-gPpb
