This week, X introduced something new: news summaries powered by its Grok AI engine. Essentially, it'll analyze X posts to create real-time summaries of the hottest topics on the platform. I'm not sure if this new feature is a game-changer Then again, Elon Musk's updates on what used to be Twitter often spark similar debates, so we'll see how this goes. A huge thanks to my colleague Aaron Hulbert for finding this gem and to Gary Marcus for the original share. Not much of a twitter or X person, but sometimes you can find gems like this. The TL:DR version is about the unintended consequences of organizations rolling out #generativeai among their workforce. Although I would have loved to see what organizations some of these respondents came from, it's rather fascinating how something that was originally intended to be a game changer, ended up changing the game for many in a not so good way. However, is this a byproduct of companies trying to make sense of their investments in Ai without any foresight? or is this a lack of proper training problem? To a degree I can understand the former, since Ai is in a frenzy moment where CapEx has to be justified and perhaps expectations are not being met. But I also feel like a lot of this could have been solved with proper upskilling and training to create a more Ai ready workforce. Someone who would probably agree with the latter is Phani Kambhampati who is the Head of Ai initiatives at UPS. If your organization is planning to go full speed with Generative Ai, then it might be worth a read with his views on upskilling the workforce before going full speed. #GenAi #Ai #upskillbeforelaunch
