Food insecurity is a growing concern across Pinellas County. We are honored to work with Daystar Life Center, Inc. through our #projecttryton initiative. According to Feeding America's Map the Meal Gap 2020 study, which used data from 2018: Pinellas County: - Food insecurity rate: 12.2% (124,430 people) - Child food insecurity rate: 19.1% (38,080 children) Hillsborough County: - Food insecurity rate: 12.6% (178,820 people) - Child food insecurity rate: 19.5% (61,600 children) It's important to note that these numbers are from before the COVID-19 pandemic, which likely exacerbated food insecurity in these counties and across the United States. Feeding America projected that the overall food insecurity rate for the United States could have reached up to 15.6% in 2020 due to the economic impact of the pandemic. #endhunger

Proud NeuDICE moment! 🐥 It's been over a year since Amerie Rose introduced me to Tony through Plymouth Social Enterprise Network. Today he knocked on the window of Shed 752 at The Plot and held up this photo of his workshop! Tony is a Living Lab member and has been regularly joining our monthly sessions at Nudge Community Builders' Union Corner. Living Labs are a space where neurodivergent people's lived experience is listened to, believed, and given enough time and space for action to happen. During our labs problems are shared, solutions considered but neuronormative expectations are diffused. Tony's problem: get a supply of pallets to the workshop. NeuDICE community solution: monthly labs and weekly Tuesday check-ins carefully balanced expectations and accountability. Excited to see Tony's workshop develop in 2025!

Founder / CEO of EduSpots | 2021 Global Teacher Prize Finalist & 2024 Gratitude Network Fellow | ✍️ Sharing my live learnings on community building, education & change.
Many people questioned why I and many others spent so much time working on the development of the EduSpots network over 💃 🥂 or making💰. It was because we could see the direct outcomes of the effort put in, and the significance of the change being created by and for remarkable human beings. We feel proud to share these output statistics from the last quarter in EduSpots - all driven through a 100% volunteer-driven model at the community level and a relatively low (streamlined!) organisational budget. And how do we achieve this? By bringing people together who are genuinely committed to a vision of enabling communities to come together to create the futures they want to see through education. Through investing in the development and growth of a network of 300 local Changemakers, believing in their potential to be social leaders regardless of their education experience, profession or age. The responsibility for change genuinely lies with the communities themselves, who have all played a pivotal role in the development of our model and grassroots network. 📈 We are looking forward to sharing the growth in the next quarter, and sharing further details on outcomes and evidence of impact at the end of 2024! 🥂 Kudos to all the Catalysts in EduSpots, whose efforts this reflects. Here's to #OurCollectiveFuture #reflection #milestones #education #community

Nonprofit leaders - As you pause “fund”raising for the moment, here’s more on generosity. “Generosity is a value with countless manifestations such as providing support, time, advocacy, mentorship, attention, presence, and skills – anything that can be given away for the benefit of others.” Asha Curran is the CEO of GivingTuesday. Are you surprised she said this? I’m not. Support comes in many forms - that’s why I talk about ‘supporter engagement’ more than ‘donor engagement’. My MapMoveMeasure™ framework guides you in creating generosity experiences – long-term relationships with supporters so you can make your mission happen. Check out my free guide to learn more and to get started building a framework for your nonprofit: https://lnkd.in/eDy_83R8 And share in the comments how you offer time, #advocacy, #mentorship, attention, presence, or skills to support a good cause. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi, I’m Beth. I partner with nonprofit leadership teams in harnessing their expertise and tapping their data to develop longer-term relationships with supporters so they can make their missions happen -- easier. #MakingMissionsHappen #EngagementStrategy #Vision #Mission #NonprofitLeadership

Last year, The Veterans Art Project (VETART.org) orchestrated a remarkable event in Sacramento, California - the Art Cafe Pop-Up. This initiative stood out as a beacon for veteran engagement, offering a platform where veterans across California could amplify their voices and forge stronger community ties through the medium of art. The event underscored the critical role of creative expression in combating isolation and facilitating veterans' smoother transition into civilian life. From Ehren Tool's poignant ceramic cups to Tonya Savice's journey of discovery in art as a therapeutic outlet, each participant brought their unique narrative to the forefront, demonstrating the profound capacity of art to heal and communicate. 🎨 Key Highlights: Ehren Tool, a USMC veteran, showcased his cups, a project since 2001, emphasizing the connection and shared experiences among veterans. Tonya Savice reflected on art as a vital tool for mental wellness and self-expression. Artworks ranged from wearable art by Carolina Hernandez to "Boots in Transition" by Phyllis Thomas, each telling a story of transition, resilience, and hope. The event also featured collaborative activities like drum circles, emphasizing the importance of collective healing and shared stories. We're grateful for the support from the Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission (MHSOAC), enabling us to reach and uplift veterans throughout California. This video is a testament to the Veterans Art Project's mission to use art as a bridge for veterans transitioning back into civilian life, highlighting the undeniable impact of creative outlets in fostering mental health and community integration. 👉 For professionals interested in supporting veteran communities or exploring the intersection of art and wellness, this video serves as a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together. #VeteransArtProject #VeteranSupport #ArtTherapy #CommunityEngagement #ProfessionalDevelopment #MentalHealthAwareness

Nonprofit leaders - You can stop fundraising for the moment. Do this instead… Plan a 2024 generosity experience for your donors. Gen-er-os-i-ty (noun) 💡 Abundance 💡 freedom in spirit or act - especially : readiness in giving So says Merriam-Webster. And, according to Wikipedia: Generosity often encompasses acts of charity, in which people give without expecting anything in return. This can involve offering time, assets, or talents to assist those in need… People can experience joy and satisfaction when they positively affect someone's life through acts of generosity. (shout out and citations in comments) My 2024 intention is to lean into generosity and continue partnering with nonprofit leadership teams in creating personalized generosity experiences with and for their supporters. To get started, here’s my free guide to start of the experience I’d like to create with you: MapMoveMeasure - Your Roadmap for Strategic Stewardship https://lnkd.in/eDy_83R8 Your turn -- where did you learn about generosity? We’ll talk about generosity this week and I’m sincerely interested in your perspective so please comment or message me – and be generous in your feedback! #makingmissionshappen #nonprofits #engagementstrategy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi, I’m Beth. Excited doesn't even begin to cover how we feel about participating in #AmplifyAustinDay, the biggest giving event in Central Texas organized by I Live Here I Give Here. It's our chance to support the incredible nonprofits that make this area a wonderful place to live and work. We've set a goal to raise $2500 for local causes by March 7 at 6 PM. And to add to the spirit of giving, Grocery TV will double the impact and match contributing up to an additional $2500. Here’s how YOU can make a difference: 1️⃣ Find your cause: Head to the below link and use keywords or cause categories to discover nonprofits that champion causes close to your heart. 2️⃣ Make it count: When making your donation, select 'Grocery TV' at checkout. #AmplifyAustin #GTVGives
