How do you personalise your desk space? Plants are an easy way to brighten up your desk and some types can actually purify the air in your office. You could use fun magnets or pushpins which can mirror your character or personality. Not allowed photos? Bring in a customised mouse mat with your kids/dogs faces. Bring in your own mug, prop up a postcard with an inspirational quote. Stick up a picture of your next holiday destination or bring in quirky pencil toppers! Change the background picture on your screen or you could have humorous book ends. Pictured is the corner of my desk. All but 2 plants are artificial - one is even crocheted - and my young people photo is around 5 yrs old now. What does your desk look like?

It’s a grey and rainy day outside but my office is cosy and the lamp on my desk is casting a lovely warm glow. I am happy to be in front of my computer in what feels like a sanctuary today. Lighting makes a huge difference to our experience of our workspaces - gentle but bright is so much more hospitable than cold and harsh or, the very worst, flickering. Changing the lighting in your workpspace can be a very enlightening experience!!
