As I transition from a career in medical and office management to pursue an entry-level position in talent acquisition, I am finding it challenging to shift career paths after 15 years in specialized fields. Over the past few weeks, I have applied to over 200 positions, receiving approximately 50 rejections and no responses from the remaining applications. Could you offer any recommendations for successfully switching career paths? Are there any companies you would recommend for someone beginning a new career? #jobsearch #remotework #hybridwork #careerchange

Reflecting on My Journey as a Recruiter 🚀 As I look back on my journey in recruitment, I realize just how much I've grown and learned. Each interaction, every candidate, and every hire has taught me something invaluable about connecting with people and understanding their career aspirations. Here are a few key lessons I’ve picked up along the way: The Power of Listening 👂 It's essential to truly listen to candidates' needs and aspirations. Understanding their motivations allows me to match them with roles that not only align with their skills but also with their long-term goals. Building Relationships 🤝 Recruitment is about more than just filling positions. It's about building relationships and fostering trust with candidates and clients. This approach has helped me find the right fit for both parties and create lasting connections. Adaptability and Continuous Learning 📚 The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and so is recruitment. Staying adaptable and continually learning about new trends, technologies, and skills has helped me stay ahead and provide the best service possible. 🌟Helping someone find their dream job, especially in healthcare, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that my efforts contribute to improving patient care and supporting healthcare professionals in their careers is a feeling like no other. As I continue my journey, I look forward to connecting with more talented individuals and helping them take the next step in their careers. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far—here's to many more successful placements and meaningful connections! Happy Global Talent Acquisition Day! It’s funny how life sometimes takes you in a direction you never expected. My journey into HR started with me “falling into” Talent Acquisition, specifically recruiting teachers, without even realizing this field existed! I remember starting out in a role where I was tasked with finding and recruiting teachers. At first, I thought it was just about filling roles, but I quickly learned how much goes into matching the right person with the right job. Little did I know, this was the beginning of my Talent Acquisition journey—a field that focuses on finding the perfect fit for both the candidate and the organization. What started as a simple recruitment job grew into a passion. I loved connecting with people, understanding their strengths, and helping them land opportunities that were perfect for them. Seeing teachers I recruited thrive in their roles was a rewarding experience that made me realize how much I enjoyed this work. Looking back, I’m grateful for that “accidental” start. It’s what led me into HR and allowed me to grow my skills in recruiting and beyond. TA wasn’t something I planned, but it’s become a key part of my career, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. To everyone working in Talent Acquisition, today is for you! Keep doing the amazing work of connecting people with the right opportunities and shaping the future of organizations. Have you ever “fallen into” a career path you didn’t expect? #GlobalTADay #TalentAcquisition #HRJourney #Recruitment #CareerPath

Senior Executive Assistant | Executive Administrative Assistant | Elevating C-Suite Excellence | Enhancing Executive Performance through Expert Administrative Support
I recently came across a post where someone mentioned that hiring managers should consider candidates applying for entry-level positions, even if they are "overqualified". The reasoning was that these individuals might be restructuring their career path or seeking to gain new skills. This perspective got me thinking. Should I consider applying for positions that may seem beneath my current qualifications? Could this be a worthwhile strategy for career growth or transitioning into a new field? However, I also wonder why hiring managers often overlook such candidates. Is it because they fear these candidates might become dissatisfied quickly, leave the role prematurely, or require a higher salary than the position can offer? Understanding this could help weigh the potential risks and benefits of pursuing entry-level opportunities as an experienced professional. #CareerAdvice #HiringTrends #CareerChange

The ONE thing you need to do before you change careers There's plenty of advice online, but this tip has helped me confidently change careers. 💡 Connect with people doing that job today who are only a few steps ahead of you. WHY? ✅ People doing the job are aware of market trends and changes right now. ✅ People doing the job 1 or 2 steps ahead of you still have the steps they took fresh in their minds. Here's an example: 🙂 You want to get into HR, and you are a teacher. ➡️ Send a message to people who transition from education into HR. Seek people with HR titles ending with: ➡️ Assistant, specialist, coordinator, representative, administrator, or analyst. You want to learn about entry-level recruiting roles. ➡️ Reach out to 5+ recruiting coordinators or talent acquisition specialists. Ask them: • How did you make that career change? • What advice do you have for me? • What do you recommend? Those conversations will help you gain confidence and decide if you want that job. 💜 Clarity comes from action, conversations, self-awareness, and reflection. ------ 🕣 Expect my posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 AM EST. 🔔 Follow me, Ana Goehner , and hit the notification bell. #careeradvice #careerchange #careergoals
