Wow. My post yesterday really hit a nerve. In case you missed it, I basically said "thank you" to HR professionals. That's it. I think it's safe to assume that HR is feeling pretty under-appreciated for all they do. Return to office mandates? Imagine being responsible for communicating a policy you didn't decide, create, or even agree with. And then absorbing all the blowback. Got laid off? HR doesn't fire people. Leaders fire people. Next time you feel angry with your HR team....remember they are employees just like you. But because of their title, they just can't complain as much. Now, go hug someone in HR. 💜

Growing up in Burbank, California, Lockheed (it wouldn’t become Lockheed Martin until later) was in my backyard. Its rich history was a constant presence, igniting my desire to become a part of this iconic company. After a stint in the Army, I saw an opportunity to contribute to national security and joined as a Security officer in 1987. The culture of continuous learning and the chance to collaborate with talented teams keeps me here. The multifaceted role of security spans national security, risk management, and operations, providing constant intellectual stimulation. From classified cyber security to program compliance, the breadth of roles keeps me engaged and eager to tackle new challenges. I have seized opportunities for personal growth through company incentives and resources like the Women’s Impact Network, learning from fellow women in the industry. Alongside inspiring colleagues, I have advanced in my career, completing degrees while balancing family and work commitments. Mentors and coaches have been invaluable in my journey, reinforcing the rewarding nature of leadership and the importance of giving back by nurturing others. Leading the Skunk Works® Security organization has been a lifelong aspiration. I have spent the last 15 years in various security leader roles and different disciplines (classified cyber, physical security, government security & compliance) – all of which helped position me to be competitive when the Director of Security role opened in 2017. ✈✈ As the Lockheed Martin Aeronautical CSP SkillBridge POC, I’m thrilled to discuss our program and share my personal journey from a SkillBridge member to securing a full-time position in Talent Acquisition. Currently, I serve as a Recruiter in the Aeronautics Business Area, where I collaborate with Military Relations, manage the DoD CSP SkillBridge program, and specialize in recruiting both aeronautical engineering and cybersecurity roles. After retiring from the Air Force following 20 years of service, my transition to the civilian workforce was both challenging and rewarding. During my military career, I held various technical and leadership roles in F-16 aircraft maintenance and spent some time in recruiting. Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of the Military Relations team at Lockheed Martin. They provided me with valuable tools such as Handshake 2 Hire, resume writing tips, and interview tips; they opened the door to the SkillBridge program and a direct hire position. The 5-month SkillBridge experience was a game-changer. I worked on many projects that bridged my military skills to the corporate environment, laying a solid foundation for my role at Lockheed Martin. This program made my transition to a full-time position incredibly smooth and allowed me to hit the ground running. It has been an amazing experience, and I highly recommend the SkillBridge program to any transitioning military personnel. This program is a testament to how military skills can be successfully applied in the corporate world, opening doors to new and exciting career opportunities at Lockheed Martin. 🎖🎖 CSP SkillBridge is a 3 to 6-month opportunity for active-duty service members in the last 180 days of their service. During this time, participants remain part of the DoD and their respective military branch while contributing to various team projects at Lockheed Martin. To be selected for the program, a Lockheed Martin manager must agree to sponsor the member. The first step is to apply through the link below. When applying, you will be required to upload your resume. When tailoring your master resume, highlight your technical abilities as much as possible, even if you have primarily held leadership roles. #USAF OL PLANT 42 BREATHES NEW FIRE INTO TU-2S DRAGON LADY! Only days after completing successful functional check flights at Beale Air Force Base, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center team at OL Plant 42 ferried TU-2S 1078 back to its birthplace in Palmdale, California for a fresh coat of its iconic black paint. Within days, the talented artisans at the U-2 depot had her launched back to Team Beale, ready for the warfighter. The U-2 depot and flight test team is a collaboration between #AFLCMC, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and the 412th Test Wing at Edwards. “The success of aircraft 80-1078’s rebuild has been a testament to the skill and aptitude of our combined maintenance, test, and acquisition team,” notes Maj. Logan Suhr, commander, Air Force Life Cycle Management Detachment 4. “Spanning two MAJCOMs, four bases, three wings and multiple industry partners we have brought a critical asset back to the fleet which directly impacts worldwide ISR operations. #AFMC #ACC
