✈✈ As the Lockheed Martin Aeronautical CSP SkillBridge POC, I’m thrilled to discuss our program and share my personal journey from a SkillBridge member to securing a full-time position in Talent Acquisition. Currently, I serve as a Recruiter in the Aeronautics Business Area, where I collaborate with Military Relations, manage the DoD CSP SkillBridge program, and specialize in recruiting both aeronautical engineering and cybersecurity roles.
After retiring from the Air Force following 20 years of service, my transition to the civilian workforce was both challenging and rewarding. During my military career, I held various technical and leadership roles in F-16 aircraft maintenance and spent some time in recruiting. Reflecting on my journey, I can confidently say I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of the Military Relations team at Lockheed Martin. They provided me with valuable tools such as Handshake 2 Hire, resume writing tips, and interview tips; they opened the door to the SkillBridge program and a direct hire position.
The 5-month SkillBridge experience was a game-changer. I worked on many projects that bridged my military skills to the corporate environment, laying a solid foundation for my role at Lockheed Martin. This program made my transition to a full-time position incredibly smooth and allowed me to hit the ground running. It has been an amazing experience, and I highly recommend the SkillBridge program to any transitioning military personnel. This program is a testament to how military skills can be successfully applied in the corporate world, opening doors to new and exciting career opportunities at Lockheed Martin.
🎖🎖 CSP SkillBridge is a 3 to 6-month opportunity for active-duty service members in the last 180 days of their service. During this time, participants remain part of the DoD and their respective military branch while contributing to various team projects at Lockheed Martin. To be selected for the program, a Lockheed Martin manager must agree to sponsor the member. The first step is to apply through the link below. When applying, you will be required to upload your resume. When tailoring your master resume, highlight your technical abilities as much as possible, even if you have primarily held leadership roles. Emphasize the technical aspects of the teams you have led, as Lockheed Martin values leaders with strong technical proficiency. Additionally, remember to list your security clearance if you have one.
