Sometimes I see myself as an IoT platform analyst's analyst, because I like to read their reports and compare their results with my recommendations using my own methodology. This week I was able to download a couple of them. In addition, another couple of companies with IoT platforms that I did not know about have contacted me via LinkedIn to present them to me and analyze collaboration opportunities. (I've lost count of whether there are around 700 and I can't take any more). In the IoT platform market you can no longer trust even the big ones (read Ericsson, Microsoft, SAP, Google, IBM,...) so at this time independent advice is critical. There are still companies that prefer Build vs Buy using Open Source, and others that have several platforms in their facilities for different use cases. I have already repeated many times that IoT should not be about technology, but about value to the business, value to customers, value to employees and value to partners (ecosystem). So don't be guided / blinded by the reports and do your own analysis or better hire the services of an independent IoT advisor.
