While it's easy to be wise with the benefit of hindsight, even from this ad, one could see that Amazon was poised to make waves – the team was resolute with clearly defined expectations. Whoever answered the ad and was hired had the opportunity to become quite wealthy as the ad states: "Your compensation will include meaningful equity ownership." P.S. Quick life update—I've decided to move on from my role at Amazon after five years. Time for a change and some adventure! 🔄 A big thank you to my colleagues and leaders at #amazon. I've learned a lot during my time here, and I'm grateful for all the experiences. Making this decision was challenging. But I firmly believe that I will be able to generate much more value if focused more on solving the problems that matter. What's next? The goal is to start my own company. But I'm yet to zero down on a domain and a problem. Till then, I will do what I love doing the most "Building". For next few months, I will build few micro apps. An interesting Observation from Amazon 🚀 While removing a item from my cart, I noticed this one When I clicked on the delete button within the product card, instead of the product instantly disappearing, it smoothly swiped to the left with a red background before disappearing. After observing this, I just swiped left another product and it got deleted The Interesting factor is the, Amazon’s way of making this signifier a conventional one. Rather than immediately removing the product, they've literally presented the entire interaction. By this way users tend to observe and mimic the action happening and discover it themselves. ( people often tend to remember stuff they discover themselves compared to someone teaching it) This is my perspective of the observation. I would love to hear your opinions on this.

Netflix, Amazon, and eBay, have been pioneers in implementing microservices at scale. Amazon adopts a decentralized model where small, autonomous teams own and operate their microservices. This autonomous team structure has historically been a game changer for Amazon but essentially only for Product Development and not other functions. Different teams need different success models. Reorganizing a function and assigning responsibilities/ ownership depends on multiple aspects like project size, complexity, skillset required, dependencies, timelines, dynamics, among other things.
