We moved to Florida about 3 years ago and our credit card spending spiked! So I created an app that lets you upload your credit card and bank statements in PDF format as well as receipts and the app takes care of everything else, including receipt and statement itemization and categorization and gives you a bunch of insights, as well as an ability to search. I built this using Amazon Bedrock's Claude Sonnet 3.5, Amazon Textract, and a couple of other AWS services like DocumentDB, S3, and SQS. I'm probably going to open this app up for everyone else later, but I'll go over the architecture soon. Lots of interesting developer details when it comes to working with LLMs, such as context window limits, response continuity, etc. GenAI is definitely a game-changer... So one thing I was really interested in is which subscriptions I have that I'm not noticing, and I found 3 that should have been cancelled a while back but weren't, including for a $19.99 Adobe account (which we never used). Amazon gave its Echo ecosystem developers a little bit less than a month's notice that it was canning the ability for them to manage lists through their integrations/skills. Normally I wouldn't care too much as a consumer about a deprecated API (it happens), but synching with Todoist has been one of the killer features of using Amazon Alexa/Echo devices for shopping (and other) lists for us. Tell Alexa what you need, and it magically appears on your (and other family member's) phone in the todo app of your choice, making it considerably simpler to remember the milk :) It's second only to using it as an egg timer in terms of value in our house. Lists are still in the Alexa app, which is absolute crap, and the API deprecation to force us there is yet another papercut (for me) in a long series of papercuts that continues to erode the value of the various echoes in our home. I understand the Echo ecosystem is not anything near the commercial success Amazon wanted, and is bleeding out money, and I'm mostly sad we have as many wee screens around the home as we do.
