The number of people enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid increased from 10 million in 2016 to more than 12 million in 2022. Learn more about ACAP’s work with the Medicare-Medicaid Integration Alliance to improve health care for people who are dually eligible. 👇 #Medicare #Medicaid #DualEligible #IntegratedCare
Recent data from The Commonwealth Fund highlight the growing population of individuals who are dually eligible. As this population continues to grow, we're pushing for person-centered solutions to integrated care. Approximately 12.8 million Americans are dually eligible in 2024. This population typically has greater health care needs, yet faces poor coordination that leads to worse outcomes and higher costs for taxpayers. Key facts about individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid: • 26% have five or more chronic conditions • They generate 1/3 of Medicare & Medicaid spending • Federal spending for this population reached $440.2 billion in 2019 It’s crucial that we continue to advocate for policies that improve health outcomes and quality of life for individuals who are dually eligible. Alabama's refusal to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act is exacerbating the struggle for access to medical care, particularly in rural areas where hospitals are facing closures. Despite the potential to provide coverage to over 174,000 residents, politicians cite concerns over sovereignty, labor participation rates, and partisan opposition to the ACA as reasons for their resistance. Instead, they advocate for alternative solutions, leaving many low-income individuals without essential healthcare services. https://lnkd.in/dQFTe6rR #Sandiola #InpatientAcuityCaptureExperts #AcuityCapture #BecauseEveryPatientAndDollarMatters #RuralHospitals #ClinicalDocumentationIntegrity #ClinicalDocumentation #CDI #BestPractices #Hospitals #DRGoptimization #Healthcare #RROI #ROI #RuralHealthcare #RuralHealth #Technology #Teamwork #HealthcareProfessionals #HealthcareProviders #ACDIS #HealthcareChallenges #HealthCareAccess #Hospital #Medicare #Medicaid #MedicareAdvantage #Telehealth #FinancialPerformance #CDI #SandiolaSuccess #CommunityHealthcare #HealthcareClaims #ProviderChallenges #MedicareAdvantage #ClaimsDenials #HealthcareFinance #RevenueCycleManagement #SandiolaSuccess #Collaborative #HealthcareChallenges #HealthcareFinance #HealthcareDocumentation #DocumentationIntegrity #CDIProgram #CDIServices #CodingIntegrity #CDISpecialist #CDIReview #DocumentationImprovement #RCM #revenuecycle #revenuecyclemanagement
