And the latest surveys confirm that men's attitude to health, and especially preventative health, are not...well, you guessed it, very healthy. 🤒2/3 (or 65%) of male respondents said they avoid going to the doctor as long as possible. 🤔 37% said they withhold information from their doctors, an ongoing issue that keeps doctors from detecting life-threatening issues early. 🤯 72% of male respondents said they'd rather be doing household chores, like cleaning toilets, than going to the doctor. 😯 20% admitted they aren't always honest with their doctor about their health. It should be considered as a key factor in an #integrated #Healthsystem Social support systems remind a person that they are not going through hardship alone, there are others that they can relate to and can learn from other experiences tips and tricks that make life with a condition abit easier. It is our role as #healthprofessionals to ensure availing suitable pathways for #peersupportgroups and networks to be equiped with the knowledge and training needed to #empower other patients.

The #healthcare #crisis is a #social-level crisis, not a #system-level crisis. No reforms will help unless people's #health #behavior is changed with the right incentives.
