"Amber, what unpopular opinion do you have about the #talentdevelopment industry?" Easy question for me, as I am aware where I "lose" most people in my more progressive viewpoints... STOP. GRADUATING. YOUR. NEW. HIRES. No one achieves mastery in #onboarding and a graduation signifies that they're prepared to walk their new world alone... Want a culture of #continuouslearning? Then they can't graduate. It's contradicting the bigger strategy. Instead, get creative with celebrating a milestone achievement. At Magnet Medical, we award them with a Call Sign (yes, just like TOPGUN) on the first day of their first contract. It's a right of passage as a #sales employee and it's a big deal. They still have so much to learn, but they're officially generating revenue for the company now. Find a way to celebrate milestones instead of handing them a certificate of days completed on the job. #foodforthought #everboarding #salesenablement #newhires
YESSSSS to all of this!!!! 🔥
I love this "Firestorm" - what a way to feel part of a new team. ✈
Agreed - what are the performance requirements of the role? What accomplishments/outputs must be achieved/produced (to a certain standard)? Performance competence happens when they meet all of their performance requirements
love this
This is such a great perspective!

Jumpin' Jehoshaphat I have missed YOU and your daily injection of inspirational AMAZINGNESS!!!!!!!

9moSo true. If an onboarding plan is 90 days, how can you actually expect someone to be fully ready for everything that could come up in a year, in just 90 days? 90 days is a foundation to support them in getting through the unexpected over the year.
