This means that the largest structural reform of the German hospital landscape in decades will be implemented as planned starting January 1, 2025. The goals of the reform are clear: to fundamentally modernize the financing and structure of the hospital system in order to address the challenges of an aging population, the shortage of skilled workers, and the increasing digitization. But what will the actual implementation look like? We have summarized the key points for you in our graphic. The timeline is also crucial. Many details and the impact on individual hospitals will only become clear over the coming year(s), once the states have completed their planning and the Ministry of Health has worked out the specifics of the law with the necessary regulations. This will likely lead to further adjustments and smaller changes. At Flying Health, we will continue to follow the process, together with our partners, and assess the impacts, opportunities, and risks. We are also looking forward to your opinions. What are your thoughts? For a more in-depth exchange, feel free to contact our colleagues Laura Nelde and Svenja Liefländer.
