Reflecting on our experience at Light + Building, I wanted to share some memories from 2016, where we showcased our 230VAC light sources with wireless light control using Zigbee communication for the first time. Back then, we had already developed a flicker-free solution to comply with today's regulations. However, due to delivery delays, we were unable to mount the surface-mounted electrolytic capacitors in time. It was quite amusing to see the reactions of visitors who shook their heads in disbelief at our setup. Communicating the intricacies of our technology wasn't easy, but we managed to demonstrate both Philips Hue and the corresponding Osram systems in our booth. We showcased a variety of linear and round units, all of which were fully functional. One highlight was our 230V COB (Chip-on-Board) of 30W from Seoul Semiconductor, which produced an impressive light output of just under 4000lm with a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 90+. Looking back, it's remarkable to see how far ahead of the curve we were at the time. It begs the question: has much changed in the past eight years, or were we simply pioneers in our field?

Did you know? The first practical visible-spectrum LED was developed in 1962 by Nick Holonyak Jr. 🌟 Initially, LEDs emitted low-intensity red light and were primarily used as indicator lights in electronic devices. 💡 It wasn't until the 1990s that advancements in LED technology led to the development of high-brightness LEDs, paving the way for their widespread use in lighting, displays, and more. 🚀 #TechHistory #History #Innovation #FunFacts 📚 https://lnkd.in/gh-xvRx

The middle frame of a mobile phone (its body) is frequently made of polycarbonate (PC) for its high impact resistance, affordability, hardness and high glass transition temperature (147ºC... only above this temperature it would gradually soften!!) Two key #chemicals for the production of PC are Cepsa Química’s #phenol and #acetone… two intermediates in a longer value chain of #chemicals until the mobile phone reaches our hands. Other #phenol and #acetone derivatives as well as #solvents are necessarily used in the production of components of a mobile phone. #NextPhenol #NextAcetone and #NextiSol products will allow to reduce the carbon footprint of mobile phones in a very near future. #CepsaQuímica #Sustainability #chemicalindustry #PositiveMotion
🌐 Technology redefines our daily lives, and at #CepsaQuímica, we simply could not miss the largest global meeting on technological advances: The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, our presence at the event will be a little bit different… Did you know that #chemistry is present in every digital interaction? Computers, tablets or even your mobile phone are made using phenol 📲. Our solvents are also used in the manufacture of microchips, for circuit cooling and even battery recycling. But we are not just present, with our chemicals we continue innovating every day to contribute to a better world. #NextChemicals #MWC24

In the pursuit of innovation, particularly at Lenovo, the role of proof of concepts (POC) is pivotal. Often, consumers may not fully grasp the benefits of a new piece of tech until they see and interact with a POC. That's why we're showcasing this POC at #CES2024: The Mechanical Energy Harvesting Combo. It uses mechanical movement and solar irradiation to power a mouse and a keyboard, eliminating the need for external charging. Not only is this POC a tangible model to help evolve our future products, but it's also an innovative solution that aligns with Lenovo's commitment to implementing more sustainable practices. Much is happening at CES. Lenovo unveiled a full lineup of more than 40 new devices and solutions powered by AI, which you can read about here: https://lnv.gy/3OmYZ4j #LenovoCES
