Ambrose Team Month Organization #2 – Habitat for Humanity. This was the second year in a row that team members donated their time to this well-known organization. By offering affordable homeownership opportunities, Habitat for Humanity helps people achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. “When we arrived, we were greeted with only floor decking in place. In a business where it often takes a bit of time to see the walls go up, it was fun to watch in happen in a matter of a few hours. PSA alert: Limber up before you toss the lumber around! Just sayin’…” – Vice President, Land Development Blaine Paul #TheAmbroseWay #AmbroseGives #Webelieve #Kindness #Culture #Community #Volunteer

HomeClub looks at hundreds of articles every day. We choose the best ones to share with our readers. This gives you a quick look at what's happening in the home improvement industry. The article below is one we picked. Community revitalization efforts can have a profound impact on local residents, fostering a sense of belonging and improving quality of life. Lowe's Foundation Hometowns program exemplifies this by awarding $10 million in grants to 100 nonprofits across the United States, as reported by Lowe's Companies, Inc.'s newsroom. These grants will fund diverse projects, from building tiny homes for veterans in South Dakota to creating a community garden in Detroit. By supporting initiatives that address specific local needs, Lowe's is not only improving physical spaces but also strengthening community bonds and providing essential services to vulnerable populations. This commitment to community development demonstrates the power of corporate social responsibility in creating lasting positive change. Community Outreach | Community Engagement | Corporate Social Responsibility | Strategic Partnerships
Selecting valuable service projects is the hardest part about corporate volunteering. ❓ Is the cause legitimate? ❓️ How is it relevant to our audience? ❓️ How does it impact the community? Community engagement staff of all levels ask these questions everytime. Luckily, there are local resources that will help you, help others. United Way of Northeast Florida's ALICE Report provides insight on our most overlooked population. ALICE stands for: - Asset - Limited - Income - Constrained - Employed ALICE households: ⬆️ Float above the poverty line ⬇️ But fall below the basic cost of living For example, HALF of Jacksonville's Westside homes qualify as impoverished or ALICE. These households are more vulnerable in needs like: 🔷️ Food 🔷️ Housing 🔷️ Child Care 🔷️ Transportation My recent post about constructing Habijax homes was ALICE inspired. The next few service spotlights will be too. Remember, sticking to the basic needs guarantees a valuable service project. 📸: Element5digital on Unsplash #Corporatevolunteering #ALICEinspired #Jacksonville

It’s no secret that the Bay Area has affordable housing challenges. One interesting model for addressing this is a Community Land Trust (CLT). A CLT is a nonprofit organization that manages land and offers housing for the benefit of a community, enabling it to become stronger and more equitable. Read more about CLTs and see some examples in the East Bay at the link below! #redoakrealty #realestate #eastbay #eastbayrealestate #GoodMove #realtortips #affordablehousing #communitylandtrust #blogpost #bayareahousing

As one of the five nonprofits in OJCF’s Impact Together program, HomeShare Oregon advocates for collective shifts and innovative approaches to address the pressing challenge of affordable housing. Recognizing a need for innovative ideas, HomeShare Oregon believes that a collaborative effort is essential to pave the way for effective solutions. Most participants in HomeShare Oregon face the obstacle of limited affordable housing options, hindering their journey towards stability. However, HomeShare Oregon provides housing arrangements at an average cost ranging from $600 - $850 a month. This provides homeseekers with the essential stability necessary to enhance their lives. Explore the meaningful work of HomeShare Oregon and the other participating nonprofits in Impact Together by visiting ojcf.org/impact/. #ojcf #oregonjewishcommunityfoundation #ojcfimpacttogether #impacttogether #homeshare #homesharing #homeshareoregon #peopleoforegon #portlandor #portlandoregon #portlandoregonlife #pdxoregon #pdxor #pdx101 #rosecity #oregon #exploreoregon #homelesspeople #homelessawareness #homelesssupport #homelessresources #homelessnothopeless

Habitat for Humanity International provides affordable housing to deserving families while partnering with organizations to help support their mission. Recently, a group of Farmers employees in Kent County volunteered to help transform a community, one home at a time. When the broad community is engaged in addressing the urgent need for adequate, affordable housing, we all become less vulnerable and more resilient. In bringing people together, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County practices a philosophy of “a hand up, not a handout,” and builds on existing community assets: financial, physical, natural, human, social and spiritual. Love seeing our employees volunteer for such a wonderful cause. 🏡 #WeAreFarmers #FarmersCares #FarmersGivesBack #LifeAtFarmers #insurance #FarmersInsurance #farmers #GiveBack #CorporateGiving #CorporateResponsibility #Volunteer #volunteering #WeCare #HabitatForHumanity #nonprofit #HabitatKent #community #giving #BuildingHomes #volunteers #volunteerspirit #teambonding #CorporateSocialResponsibility #support #inclusion #AffordableHousing

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to join Jennifer Parks on a Habitat for Humanity Chicago (HFHC) neighborhood tour. We explored two neighborhoods, Greater Grand Crossing and West Pullman, that have been significantly impacted by HFHC's initiatives. Serving on the Habitat for Humanity Chicago Board has given me a deeper perspective as it pertains to the impact that the organization has on a quarterly and yearly basis, yet, nothing compares to seeing the tangible outcomes of HFHC’s efforts and discussing its forward-looking vision. This experience left me invigorated and excited about the boundless potential of HFHC. For my contacts in the Chicago area who haven’t yet gotten involved with HFHC, I highly recommend that you consider doing so. HFHC’s strategic neighborhood approach includes four primary components: strengthening the neighborhood housing market, connecting the community, elevating neighborhood appeal, and enhancing the physical environment. These efforts are bolstered by ambitious five-year goals, which include increasing the number of houses built or rehabilitated by fourfold, reaching a total of 100 houses. Additionally, they aim to triple the number of participants in affordable homeownership programs, and double the number of volunteers, aiming for a total of 25,000 over five years. These ambitious initiatives are just the tip of the iceberg, and your involvement could make a significant difference! If you are interested in getting further plugged in, please reach out so I can connect you with the incredible team! If you are already motivated to make an impact, you can follow the following links to start you journey with HFHC: Volunteer: https://lnkd.in/gzA_g_27 Donate: https://lnkd.in/gyJNSmWH Learn more about HFHC: https://lnkd.in/gnsBc9ZF #HFHC #habitatforhumanity #habitat #impact #volunteer

What could Community Ownership in Saxonvale look like? Paul Oster, Mayday Saxonvale Director walks us through how the community assets in Saxonvale would be owned with the Mayday Saxonvale plan. By increasing control for the #community, enhancing #communityvalues, and maximising #communityprofit we can ensure the best possible value for #Frome. Our plan is to have as much community space as possible owned by the community in perpetuity. #Heritagebuildings like the Western Warehouse, Press Shops, and Notts Stores - if we put these spaces, these buildings in the ownership of the community, there are so many opportunities for what we can do with them, now and in the future.
