In the spirit of understanding and empathy, we recently embarked on a powerful initiative at James' Place Eastleigh that highlighted the importance of seeing the world through others' eyes. 🌍 Cicely, a dedicated member of our team, spent a day navigating life from a wheelchair. This eye-opening experience wasn't just about facing physical challenges; it was a profound journey into the everyday realities faced by many of our members. Through this act of empathy, we've gained invaluable insights into making our Eastleigh sanctuary even more accessible and welcoming. As a result, we're making practical changes, like adjusting the height of coat pegs and re-evaluating the placement of crockery, to ensure that every member of our community can enjoy a greater level of independence and ease in their daily activities. But the lessons learned go beyond physical adjustments; they touch the heart of empathy itself. Today, we're bursting with pride for all members who embraced this initiative, demonstrating a remarkable level of understanding and support for one another. Their willingness to step up and experience life from a different perspective shows a commitment to inclusivity that truly makes James' Place a family. This journey has reaffirmed our commitment to empathy, understanding, and actionable change. By trying to walk—or roll—in each other's shoes, we're not just making our spaces more accessible; we're building a community grounded in deep mutual respect and understanding. Let's continue to learn, adapt, and grow together, inspired by the courage and empathy shown by our team and members. Because, at James' Place, we believe that understanding is the first step towards a more inclusive and loving world. 💙 #InTheirShoes #EmpathyInAction #AccessibilityMatters #JamesPlaceJourney

*What does Weston Recruitment value and find inspiring in Private Household?* Not only do we have the promise of better weather later this week to uplift us all - that is always motivating - but there are times to celebrate the great parts of this industry and why we all do it. One thing that I have found inspiring this week in Private Household is working with the client and the candidates that both seek and create solutions and therefore achieve a great outcome - you cannot ask for something more valuable to be a part of! #careerdevelopment #privatehousehold #industryinsights

Yesterday, we celebrated my father's 60th birthday. This morning, while getting ready for my office, my father asked me what your office looks like. What do the table and the chair you sit on look like? Who is your boss, and how is he? What exactly does your profile stand for in your company? He further said it's been 60 years to me today. I raised two daughters, and they both are doing well for themselves. My wife and I became part of their studies; I traveled along with them for their examinations and interviews, and your mother has been preparing breakfast and lunch for them, but as parents, we never got the chance to see what your office looks like. Isn't that strange? There should be some rules in the offices, where once the employee receives an offer letter, offices should be bound to invite the employee’s parents to visit their office. Parents make their children capable enough to work in offices. They deserve to be part of induction and orientation. #FamilyFirst #WorkLifeBalance #FamilyTime #FamilyAtWork #FamilyValues #ParentFriendly #TogetherAtWork #WorkFamily #FamilyCulture #InclusiveFamilies #FamilySupport #FamilyFriendly #FamilyWellness #StrongerTogether #InclusiveWorkplace #FamilyMatters #FamilyFun #FamilyCommunity #FamilyEngagement #FamilyLove #FamilyConnection #FamilyEmpowerment #FamilyUnity #FamilyFirstCulture #WorkAndFamily #FamilyInclusion #FamilyHappiness #FamilyWorkLife #FamilyEvents #FamilyNetwork

January 2024 is in the books. What a month. When I moved to Armanino LLP at the end of last year I found a firm that allowed me to live the work values that are important to me: have fun at work, learn, and make an impact. Over the last month I have had great fun at work visiting our San Ramon and Philadelphia offices getting to know wickedly smart people who make a difference to our teams, people, and clients every day. I’ve also learned so much at a firm that feels different. Our entrepreneurial approach is palpable and feels different to other places I’ve worked. One of my biggest learning points has been understanding what it means to be a B-Corp and one of the very few B-Corps in our space, which adds to our commitment and sense of responsibility to our communities. As for impact…one of the highlights was participating in this month’s Committee Leader launch where I met so many people who put our people and communities first through numerous groups promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in tangible ways. We also got to have a little fun while doing good stuffing soft toys for kids going into foster homes. There are so many opportunities at Armanino LLP and 2024 promises to be a great year as we continue to create a Uniquely Armanino experience for all our people. #greatworkplace #workplaceculture #diversityandinclusion #employeeexperience #peopleandculture #peoplefirst #peoplefirstculture #liveyourbestlife #talentstrategy #bcorp #uniquelyarmanino #hr #hrcommunity

As the sun shines brightly, we at Roots & Rivers wanted to take a moment to share what we've been up to this summer. 🌞 🌟 Welcoming Back Annelies: We are thrilled that Annelies Tjebbes has returned on a part-time basis from maternity leave. Walking is a great way to get around, but poor lighting and limited visibility make nighttime walks less than ideal. I've experienced this firsthand walking home from Carseldine station in Brisbane. My research during my university studies explored how pedestrian spaces can be designed to be more inclusive for everyone. Back then, a strong focus on women's safety needs in nighttime walking infrastructure was less prevalent. Thankfully, the conversation is changing, and specific platforms and champions are bringing this issue to light. Studies show that good lighting, natural surveillance, and well-designed paths can make walking safer and more attractive for everyone. These improvements benefit public health and foster social inclusion by making people feel comfortable walking at night. Let's discuss ways to make our cities more walkable and inclusive! #pedestrianinfrastructure #citiesforpeople #walkableneighborhoods
