Today, IMDbPro and ReFrame announced the 2024 ReFrame TV Stamp recipients and the ReFrame report findings, determined by ReFrame’s extensive analysis of IMDbPro data. The ReFrame TV Stamp is awarded to scripted series that hire women and other underrepresented genders in at least 50% of key roles.
This year's report shows a decline of 8.5% in gender-balanced hiring compared to last year, with 77 of the 200 most popular series receiving the stamp. Despite this decline, several Emmy nominees met the gender-balanced production criteria, including "Abbott Elementary," "Fallout," "Hacks," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "Reservation Dogs," and "The Bear." Congratulations to all the ReFrame TV Stamp recipients this year on setting a powerful example for championing inclusivity and gender representation within the entertainment industry.
IMDb and IMDbPro are committed to supporting hiring decisions and content that reflects the full diversity of our world. By amplifying these important stories and the talented teams behind them, we can inspire lasting change in the entertainment industry. The show
“All Cinderella’s Fault” represents a unique opportunity to reflect on the past, present, and future of women’s rights celebrating the strength, resilience, and determination of women through art and culture. An unmissable experience aimed at raising awareness and inspiring the community towards a fairer and more just world for all.
The show aims to narrate the cyclical events of history and highlight the persistence of discrimination against women, emphasizing that despite progress in laws and rights, many
prejudices still remain deeply rooted in contemporary society.
The show aims to promote greater awareness of these issues, stressing the need to actively fight against injustices and
gender inequalities still present in society.
Only through education, awareness, and concrete
action will it be possible to overcome barriers and create a more fair and inclusive environment for all women, regardless of their characteristics or talents.
The Installations
The fairy tale - Cinderella is a classic example
of storytelling that constructs inaccurate
stereotypes about women. The story teaches
that only through physical appearance and the
help of a man can a woman advance socially,
conveying a limiting and unrealistic message
about women’s capabilities and value.
The commodification - The commodification of
women linked to consumerism. This
phenomenon occurs when women are primarily
treated as objects to be purchased or
consumed. Advertisements and media often
promote a distorted image of women, reducing
them to mere objects of desire rather than
complete individuals.
The stereotype - The stereotype of women
viewing marriage as fulfillment only to then
become trapped in it, is a limiting portrayal that
perpetuates the idea that marriage is the sole
life goal for a woman. This stereotype can lead
to a loss of autonomy and a lack of
opportunities for fulfillment outside the marital
context.
The ignorance - burning witches only because
they were considered intelligent. This theme
highlights how fear of the different and social
control have led to serious historical injustices,
with devastating consequences for many
women considered “witches” simply for being
independent, curious, or not conforming to the
standards of the time.
The punishment - History has unfortunately
documented many cases where women have
been imprisoned, confined to asylums, or
punished with atrocious violence for defending
their opinions, for fighting for their rights. These
cruel and inhumane practices violate
fundamental human rights. This issue how
some cultures still perpetuate violent and
discriminatory practices against women,
questioning the concepts of justice and equality. #events #right #women

Some highlights from the latest study from Paramount Global below on Mi3Australia. Representation on screen is improving, but there's also some bad news. It's certainly on media owners to address some of these findings, but we also need to acknowledge that the entire industry (and advertising spend) have a role to play.
Building on our Reflecting Me: Global Representation On-Screen research in 2021, and in support of Paramount’s global commitment to Content for Change, we're diving into Australians' evolving views on representation in media.
General Manager of Data, Insights & Analytics, Gareth Tomlin, discusses the welcome surge in diverse stories being told in Australian television and film, with a broader representation of the people we see on screen. Yet, the question remains, is it enough? And what role do media and creative agencies play in ad-supported environments?
