Skills for Success Careers Fair - Reaching out to all of my business contacts! This year we will be using our careers fairs to raise awareness of key skills needed in the workplace. Increasingly, employers are telling me that young people don’t have the skills they need for employment; to help tackle this we will be asking businesses to showcase the skills that they use on a day to day basis and to talk to pupils about their importance. If you feel you could contribute to this conversation, please get in touch! #Careerseducation #Skills #makeadifference

A career fair is the perfect idea for National Education Week. But what careers should you bring in for high school students? Here are some ideas: - Have your group’s parents survey their children - Send out a student survey to identify trends - Reach out to teachers to see what they think - Ask your town’s Chamber of Commerce for suggestions #BoosterClub #CareerFair

Thanks to Aldenham School for asking me to exhibit at their careers fair today. I was amazed by the interest and inquisitive questions posed by the students, and its certainly made me want to inspire more young people who, hopefully, will enter a superb profession in the not too distant future. We need more young advisers coming into the industry, so fingers crossed I managed to make an impression on a small number of intelligent, young people. Ps - when did I get to the point where it seems appropriate to refer to students as ‘young people’?! #wealthmanagement #careers #financialplanning #islinwm

Middle school students want to learn about New Jersey companies and the world of work! Traditionally, Junior Achievement of New Jersey (JA) has helped educators connect their students with career pathways and opportunities that inspire their future. Toward that end, a JA Inspire Career Fair is being conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg. This is one in a series of career exploration events being conducted around the state for New Jersey students. This series brings together various industries, companies, and employee volunteer role models to show hundreds of middle school students in attendance firsthand available careers and their pathways. JA encourages employer and exhibitor participants to create engaging displays to educate and excite the students about the world of work. Other locations in the career exploration series are: -- Wednesday, February 12, Rowan College of South Jersey, Vineland -- Wednesday and Thursday, February 26 and 27, Passaic County Community College, Wanaque -- Tuesday, March 18, Atlantic Cape Community College, Cape May -- Tuesday, March 26, Atlantic Cape Community College, Mays Landing -- Friday, May 16 Franklin Elementary School, Newark Employers and agencies interested in being an exhibitor may register by using the link in the flyer. Can anyone help with this?
Award winning Educational Outreach & D&I: focused on careers support, employability skills, & STEM. Public Soapbox SEND speaker. Enterpriser Advisor. Don’t say "someone should" - be someone that did.
Parent Governor with link to Careers Support hat on here. Are any of my contacts available to support Finham Park 2 (Coventry) Careers Fair on site at school next Tuesday 16th April (event 9-3). Flu season is taking its toll on volunteers. Jo Kerr, the Careers Lead, provides a cracking lunch and all the tea, coffee & biscuits you can consume. Not to mention its a lovely school. My day job is all things education outreach related and I can promise that using your volunteer days at events like this is very rewarding, fun and also great to log on your PDRs. Its a fantastic feeling when a young person goes away smiling after speaking with you, and feels empowered about their future. Let me know if you are interested and I will link you with Jo. And please share with your contacts. #Careers #VolunteerDay #Volunteering #CareersAdvice #Education #YoungPeople #Construction #Engineering #Inspire #Skills #CareersFair #FreeLunch
