140 BMO customers plan to sue bank after alleged transfer frauds A group of more than 140 Bank of Montreal customers from across Canada plan to file a class-action lawsuit against the bank, after they say they collectively lost more than $1.5 million in fraudulent e-transfers. According to customers their accounts were drained and transfers were made through e-transfers and global transfers, wherein they do not have any idea about it. Responding to this bank stated that the passwords, OTP were entered correctly and in many cases IP address were similar to that of customers and hence denied reimbursement. It is a case of security compromise. According to cyber security expert, the reason could be frequent use of banking at multiple places at system which is not secured.
