On Tuesday, July 23rd the #AAPM2024 Women Physicist Luncheon was held during AAPM’s 66th Annual Meeting and Exhibition. The Luncheon—sponsored by Elekta—was organized around a theme: Increasing representation of women in leadership roles in medical physics. The event was hosted by AAPM’s Women’s Professional Subcommittee (WPSC).
The luncheon included a panel discussion which addressed issues including unlocking the full potential of the field of medical physics, navigating situations where leaders may be challenged or undermined due to gender perceptions, the unique challenges women leaders face, and more.
A Q&A session and table discussions followed the panel.
