New Post: The 2024 Supernova Viewing: An Unprecedented Celestial Event – Book - https://lnkd.in/egKgE-rH - The year 2024 is marked by an astronomical phenomenon of monumental significance: the 2024 Supernova. This event is anticipated to be one of the most visually spectacular and scientifically significant astronomical events of the century.A supernova, the cataclysmic explosion of a star, releases an immense amount of energy, outshining entire galaxies and providing a rare opportunity for both amateur stargazers and professional astronomers to observe and study the life cycle of stars and the intricate workings of our universe. What used to be a bunch of simple yet interesting ideas is now a fully functioning #Minecraft #Education game on a topic that fascinates me a lot: #Astronomy. Together with the #Astronomine consortium, we gather updated scientific #data on Astronomy, we filtered it with the supports of teachers from all over Europe and with my dear colleagues we brainstormed how those idea could work in a Minecraft game. Then, our amazing developers are here with their tech magic to finish the job. This one below is a #video of a game that will become available later this year in English, Greek, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese. It is also the first of a series of 3 free worlds on Astronomy to be used in #primary and #secondary #schools, or anywhere else you want! I hope you look forward our next updates! #Eramus+
𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 is the first of a series of three educational worlds focused on the topic of Astronomy. ATERMON B.V. worked 💪🏻hard with its European partners to make this game 🎮as fun as educational. In this game you will learn about the Auroras and the Constellations 💫all while exploring a ancient🏛️ Mayan temple in the Mesoamerica's! FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! JUNE 20, 2024 Summer Days are here! Summer begins with the solstice on Thursday, June 20, 2024, marking the astronomical first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Interesting Fact: The timing of the June solstice is not based on a specific calendar date or time; it all depends on when the Sun reaches its northernmost point from the celestial equator. Therefore, the solstice won’t always occur on the same day. #NevisandArdizzoneTeam #ExceptionalRealEstate #Compass #LuxuryatCompass #LuxuryCompass #CompassLuxury #interestingfact #celestialequator #summerdays #junesolstice #ilovesummer #bestsummeryet #sunlovers #lovesun #june20 #solstice

SOPA facts no.09 : The Dark Matter Mystery About 85% of the mass in the universe is made up of dark matter, an invisible substance that doesn't emit, absorb, or reflect light. Scientists know it exists because of its gravitational effects on galaxies and galaxy clusters, but its true nature remains one of the biggest mysteries in astronomy! Dark matter is a mysterious substance that fills up a big chunk of our universe. Imagine it as an invisible force, like a ghostly presence that doesn't interact with light. Because it doesn't emit or reflect light, we can't see it directly. However, we know it's there because we can observe its effects on the things around it. One major clue is how it influences the movements of galaxies and galaxy clusters. When astronomers study the rotation of galaxies or the bending of light around massive objects in space, they notice that there's more gravitational pull than can be explained by the visible matter alone. This extra pull suggests the presence of something invisible – dark matter. But what exactly is dark matter made of? That's the big question that scientists are still trying to answer. Some think it could be made up of particles that don't interact with light, while others suggest it might involve changes to our understanding of gravity on cosmic scales. #DarkMatter #CosmicMystery #InvisibleForce #GalacticIntrigue #BeyondVisible #CosmicPuzzle #UnseenPresence #HiddenRealm #AstronomicalEnigma #GalacticPhenomenon #InvisibleCosmos #MysteriousSubstance #Astrophysics #Cosmology #GravitationalAnomaly #GalacticRotation #DarkSideOfTheUniverse #BeyondLight #UnseenGravity #UnknownParticles #CosmicIntrigue #AstroResearch #BeyondPerception #QuantumRealm #CosmicParticles #GalacticInteractions #CosmicDiscovery #BeyondObservation #InvisibleMatter #CosmicConundrum
