This complexity is expected to increase as it is estimated that by 2032, healthcare spending will exceed $7.7 trillion and represent 20% of the gross domestic product.
Admittedly, the delivery of healthcare services has emerged from a foundation of public health, community services and faith-based care into a multitrillion-dollar economic engine. In response, professionals have shifted from reactionary to proactive leadership.
As such, leadership is obligated to develop many plans: strategic, business, staffing, capital, marketing, revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
